    new here

I have found this website about a week ago. Lots of things to read but it is hard to find particular things. I've not done this before so wonder if i could get some help. I need to stop this madness.. I think I have a plan. I like reading inspiring things of people who do well can anyone direct me to some good letters from people that might help me finalise my plan. many thanks.

    Hi Corkish, and welcome

You've come to a great place, where you will find lots of help and support.

I would suggest that you start with the toolbox - it contains many hints and tips from various people, and you can have a look at things you feel you'll be most comfortable with and start making your own plan based on that:

        Hi corkish,

Welcome, you have found a great place, there's lots of comfort & support available here. Have you read the MWO book yet? You can download it right here on the website. It's full of useful information to help you to make your plan.
Please feel free to visit us on the 'Newbies Nest' thread in the Just Getting Started section. Lots of brand new folks there just beginning their journeys too.

        Wishing you the best!

Thanks for the welcome. i've had quite a read.. i get a bit lost on the site so far... but that tools thing is very interesting. It seems as if not many people are actually following the regime set out in the book being advertised on this site.. it reads as if most are going towards abstinence.

that seems right to me - for me. I've tried to cut down. I've tried to go easy but one drink is too many for me.

What is the longest that anyone has gone absinent here. I see some at one year but I am worreid that i'll go abstinent for a bit and then drink again. I think i need to be abstinent for life. I'm done killing myself this way.

So.. I now have some new tools from that thread in my arsenal and i'm going for it.

          Thanks again
