    Chest Pains

In the past when I was drinking heavily I would get pains in the right side of my chest. It's a strange burning, stabbing pain. I saw the doctor and he did some checks (he listened to my chest!) but couldn't suggest a reason.

Last night I drank again, a little more than I should but nothing too excessive (4 beers and a mouthful of raki).

Today I have that chest pain again. Anyone had this?

Maybe esophagus problems? Hyadal Hernia? Liver? Muscle cramp? Hope you feel better.

That is pretty scary maybe you should think about giving abstinence a go for a while that might help. Werent you on day 3 earlier in the week having drank past your limit once already this week - it could be the cumulative effective of the alcohol rather than the amount you drank in one night.
You should check it out with a Dr just to be sure though.

Was looking it up, the nearest I can get is irritation of the esophogus, gall bladder problems, liver inflammation (of course) but the pain is higher than suggested, sort of under the breast.

Sounds like you know it's drinking related, so,...........your move.

I hope you feel better Vlad....I think a Dr. should look deeper for you, young lady!

Vlad-Maybe acid reflux? Drinking can really stir the acid up in your stomach.

There is a possibility it could just be that, but I'm not entirely convinced.

The pain has more or less subsided now thankfully.

I had pains high up, just below my right breast as well, while drinking. I assumed it was my liver, swollen, and causing pain to areas surrounding it.

Since no longer drinking, pain has not returned. Whatever it was, it was definately drinking related. Just another reason on a long list, as to why NOT to drink.

I take Milk Thistle as a preventitive, and healing tool, for my liver. Have you looked into that Vlad.

Hope you figure out what is up, and glad you are feeling a bit of relief from the discomfort.

                        Take care of yourself.

I had that too. Was completely drinking related. I went to AA and stopped for about 90 days and the pain went away. It didn't take that long for the pain to go away, but I was serious then as I am now about giving it up altogether.

I don't do AA now but, if I am going to drink, I really try to minimize the damage. I am on day three AGAIN but I keep plugging along. Each day you give yourself the gift of being AF, your body is working on repairing itself. Like someone in the thread said...your move.
