Please pray for my son's (and his friends) safety this evening. He is 19 years old and out with 3 friends clubbing. The four of them left here a short while ago and I swear they smelled of marijuana. I grilled them with the usual, who's driving, designated driver etc. but I'm worried tonight.

I will say an extra prayer. I have a son who is 13 and venturing out more on his own so I understand how you must feel. Know that you did everything you could to raise him right and hope he makes good choices. I think as parents thats all we can do at some point.

I am sure everything will be ok. I can understand though why you would be worried.
I think about all the dumbass things I did when growing up....my goodness.....but I made it through in one piece.

I worried a lot when my kids started going out and 'experimenting'.
There's not a lot we can do except trust them to do the right thing.
They usually do.

I hope your son and his friends made it home safe and sound. I worried a ton about my kids when they 'went out'...stayed up all night, etc.
Just know that you have done your best teaching them the right thing. I know, it's not that easy but it kind of helps. They will do what they are going to do no matter what we say.

Thank You everyone, I had a bad feeling when that group left here at 11:00pm to go clubbing. My son is an adrenaline junkie and that makes me worry more! The designated driver is a pretty safe kid I think, but ya just never know. My son totalled his car at 4am about 2 months ago and was knocked unconcious. I know I can't keep him in he is 19 and can do what he pleases. I just manage him the best I can. Thanks!!!!!!!!!

when my 18yr son is out with his friends,i thank god for looking after him in advance.and belive he will be ok,this works for me.in fact i thank god in advance for eveyr wish i have ,ie not drinking today ,the safety of my other kids who are away from home,if i have to worry all the time they are out id never sleep.,,,give it a try ,and belive it will happen, all the best
