Morning, Start-a-licious and all to come

I did get some sleep eventually :-)

I'm still trying to get my head around the idea of meditation: I'll check out the link after bouncing around the boards for a bit!

The cubs are still fast asleep. They also went to bed rather late. We'll head into town around 10.00-ish or so. Having a nice cup of coffee and toast with banana & marmite :-) Some might think its a weird combo, but its comfort food for me...

I hope everyone will have a fantastic Saturday!

Morning Tippers, I am glad that you did manage to get some shuteye last night!

Well I have heard of peanutbutter and bacon, sardines and condensed milk but I admit that marmite and bananas is a first......I shall be venturing off to the shops to procure the necessaries and follow suit.

I am off to the airfield as I need to test my camera after sending it in for some work...not the best light by any means but it was in similair conditions that I was having hassles with the thing!

Ah, the single life, Grim. You have to weigh the advantages and disadvantages... What were you reading last night, BTW? I'm all out of books at the moment. My nickname in DW's book club is "roofleser" - I raid their stash regularly

Yes indeed, the single life is not all it is cut out to be but at present wouldn't have it any other way...

Well "roofie", I am currently reading "Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follet. I am really enjoying it although it is a very long book. Two other that I have recently read are "The Reader" by Bernhard Schlink and "The Cellist of Sarajevo" by Andrew Galoway. Both are excellent reads but I suppose it is all up to the mood one is in and the type of reading one generally likes.
What type of book do you enjoy....maybe we can make some suggestions?

Hey, Mario. You are such a positive guy - having read your story, I'm constantly impressed and motivated!

Grim: I read just about everything I can lay my hands on. I've been known to read chic-lit (e.g. Marian Keyes), recently read a good Umberto Eco book. I've read The Reader, but not Cellist. I don't know why, but I find Afrikaans literature a yawn generally. The last one was Brink's "In Stede van Liefde", which left me utterly disappointed. I finished "Inheritance of Loss" by Kiran Desai about a week ago - great book.

I also find that my choices of books are determined by my mood at the time. I'll pick up a book, read a few pages, and put it down if it doesn't "click" with me. Then a few weeks later, I'll devour it in one sitting :-) We encourage the kids to read too - mini-me has taken to the Spud series, having finally moved on from Harry Potter

Hi there Grim - hope you don't mind me popping in here but I have to share that I adore Tiger Moths. I try, each year, to go to Cairns and take in a flight across the Great Barrier Reef and the rainforest. It's probably the most blissful thing I've ever experienced.

I might have lost at Wii Sports last night, but boy: I aced the "tire them out" game... 9.00 a.m. and the cubs are still fast asleep. Most unusual.

Hello Tawny-Tiger-Fan, good to see you....

I share your adoration for the Tiger, it is an awesome aircraft. We had one in the local area but sadly it has been sold to someone down the coast. Flying across the Great Barrier Reef must be an exceptional experience....wow, you are very lucky. Erm, where are the pics?

I'll try to dig out some footage i have shot of the Tiger around here....
