              Good morning.
No sore heads today I trust?
This talk of airshows has brought back many happy childhood memories. Sitting in the cockpit of the only flying Lancaster Bomber left in the world. Standing behind a de Havilland Vampire as it powers up and feeling the heat from the jets. The huge noise of two English Electric Lightnings flying at 200 feet along the runway. Phantoms and Vulcans and chipmonks and a bright yellow Westland Wessex helicopter.
              I'm getting all smiley.....
              Happy times.

                    Hello Pops,

I'm also getting smiley just reading your post!

You will have to pop over to SA sometime to watch the Lightnings in action.

                      Know what you mean, Pops.

Unfortunately, my old man was a Messerschmitt dude and I've had to spend my life shutting up about that bit of info. ("Don't mention the war".) LOL

                      Good plane, though.

I've seen a few Messerschmitts too Tawny. Fantastic planes!
There were good guys on both sides. It's sad that all this amazing machinery is only built for war. Beautiful to watch though.

I haven't seen one for almost forty years. They're just a seat on top of two huge jet engines. What a great job those guys have.

I think they have most of the planes at the Wanaka show. All you plane enthusiasts will kick my butt but I worked at 3 of the airshows raising money for our yacht club and didn't pay too much attention.

Yeah Pops - I deleted because I figured it best. You know ... it's kind of sad but all my old man wanted to do was fly. Don't think he cared what side he was on.

Sorry - I got caught up in plane talk.

Carry on peeps - have fun!
