    nervous and scared about this week...

    My ex (current recession roomate) returns from visiting family this week, just for a week, before he goes back to help his Mom after she had surgery.

    He is my biggest enabler! He drinks beer and smokes pot, neither of which interests me. BUT he also buys me wine whether i ask for it or not. Even when I ask him not to. I think he thinks i will have sex if i get drunk enough, even though it never happens. lol TMI?

    Anyway...i'm just nervous about this week. I havent had any temptation around me yet and i hope i'm strong enough to get through whatever he throws my way.

    I have texted him this morning telling him that if he brings any wine into the home, I will dump it out. (he hates wasting money) .

    any other suggestions?

    P.S. I am not very good at confrontations. I usually try to avoid them at all possible costs.

    Hi Mstall .......... stick by your guns and throw it down the sink as soon as he gives it to you ............ make sure that he sees you do it then he wont buy anymore, if he does buy more then pour it over him .............. don't let him spoil this for you.......

    I promise that you will feel dreadful if you drink it ..........

          Thanks all! He doesnt bring the pot into the house. I have a smokefree home and am forced myself to go outside if i want a cig.

          There are three beers in the fridge that he left over 10 days ago, but like i said, they do not interest me at all (unless of course i've been drinking and run out of wine!)

          I will pour out any wine if he brings it. thanks again

            You got us. Just if he would bring you wine, dump it. Or better yet get some AF wine. But try to tell him that you quit drinking. So if he wants to buy you wine, tell him to make sure its AF wine.
            I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

            Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

            Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

              well for once he listened to me and didnt bring anything home with him.

              He did ask if i wanted to go for a drink. duh!!

              He leaves again on Thursday. I'm sure i will make it through a few days and i think he understands now.
