Wavey its for me an amazing experience. I was a chronic every day drinker. I triated up fairly fast and noticed immediatley my chronic anxiety dissolved. At about 200mgs I hit the switch and have zero cravings. The only side effect was periodic sleepiness but that only lasted a couple of days. I suggest you check out the Bac threads very inspiring stuff, however some experienced side effects and could not continue with it.

Being Single and living by myself, I'm realizing I REALLY need to find something to fill the time that I would normally spend getting smashed...
My main trigger is boredom..
I'm working on it... Ieven have a daily journal with emotions, situations and possible ideas for activities...What you perceive is what you believe, so make sure you look at things the right way....

Waves. Yep, boredom is a problem, especially in the early day's. At least your weekdays are full working? so, you've only got to keep occupied in the evenings, no? I had to stay away from socialising for a few weeks till i was less anxious. Or, i'd socialise for short periods, and have an exit plan. This might be the hard part for you?

A couple of bottles of white wine sometimes 3 every night. Weekends I'd wake up so sick from friday night I d start drinking before breakfast and continue to the afternoon when i would pass out wake up 12:00 midnight and drink another couple of bottles. Sunday arvo would start at 2 and guzzle down a bottle and a half pop a mysyndol and go to bed at 8:30 so as to be reasonably capable for work on monday. It was ruining my life relationships everything I had to stop but just didnt have the balls to white knuckle it thats where the Bac helped imediatley it got rid of the horrible anxiety which I think is the basis of my alcoholism. I still listen to meditation tapes and take supplements bac is not the complete answer but close to it for me. I agree boredom for me was cured I thought by isolating myself and guzzling wine I was so anxious before having people over for dinner or going out for dinner i used to neck a little flask of spirits just to settle my nerves . I never drove though I m still paying off the horrendous taxi bill i have clocked up!!!

Similar routine here too, Reg. But mine would carry over into the weekdays, then time off work etc. to drink. Got too out of hand. Relationship's?...forget it! Finally had to do something. It was a big deep cloudy downward, depressing, anxious cycle. Only way out was up, or underground really.

Reg - there are some great free meditation podcasts, although the mention of 'tape' doesn't bode well for podcast playing.
Wavey - yes, I really had to think about it, maybe its an Aussie euphemism?
I'm having an AF stretch and Friday night is a huge trigger. Blah.

I think you know that I suffer depression and anxiety Mr G
Withdrawal makes me pretty anxious for a week or so but then ALL Depression/Anxiety fades away by the end of week two...
This is entire reason for me TRYING to go AF!
I'm a drunk and I'm lonely because the AL fecks with my brain chemistry and makes me anxious and depressed.. If I can beat AL, I really believe I can find myself a nice girl and settle down pretty quickly..
I am about to turn 40 and all my friends have been Married for a few years and are popping out Babies and I sit here alone drinking...
That's bullshit.. I either sort out my drinking or don't have a life the way I see it...
I'm finding it really hard not to drink though!
How did you stop Mr G?What you perceive is what you believe, so make sure you look at things the right way....

I agree Mr G " It was a big deep cloudy downward, depressing, anxious cycle". that exactly what this disease leads to. I so admire you guys for the mental fortitude and guts to just white knuckle it long enough and put in a plan to eventually get to that stage where the drink thought fades to black
