When I was a kid I always thought it would be cool to have a hunting bird, but I don't think you could train our hawks to do it, but we have NZ falcons which are pretty. We got one in at the vet clinic I worked in and we fixed it's broken wing and let him go.

I don't actually know to much about them Grims - I've only ever seen two in my life. I think the hawks (which are aussies) pick on them so they stay up higher in the hills.It's time I put my big girl pants on. :grannypants: I hope they fit.

Just googled them - they are on the endangered list, thats prob why I haven't seen many of them. But unlike silly old hawks they hunt on the wing (whereas hawks just eat roadkill and pick on lambs etc). Sounds like your type of bird Grim.It's time I put my big girl pants on. :grannypants: I hope they fit.
