    GABA Rush!!!

Whoa..does anyone get a major rush after taking GABA? It happens about 10 minutes after I take it and it is pretty intense..it last for about 5 or 10 minutes. I have to sit down, breathe, relax. It passes, but freaks me out. I wonder if I should take it or not. Anybody else?

    GABA Rush!!!

    Yes, I always get it!
It took me a while to work out which supplement was the cause but it's definitely the GABA.
I get a horrible metallic taste in my mouth and my ears, face and neck come on fire -- it's most unpleasant at 6 in the morning.

      GABA Rush!!!

      Hi,
I've been taking GABA long before I stopped drinking and have no side effects

It could be that it's interacting with another med or supp you're taking.

          GABA Rush!!!

I got that with the GABA the first few times that I took it, particularly when I combined it with L-Glutamine. Now (three weeks later) I may get some mild transient tingling of my hands and face but that's about it.

Sounds like a hot flash to me : ) Seriously, I've read something about that. i think vitamin B6 does something similar.

                    GABA Rush!!!

I get the same reaction to GABA. A tingling in the head and face and a little spacey feeling for a bit.

It subsides fairly quickly, though, and doesn't really bother me. (I don't enjoy it like Starty does, strange little squirrel that she is...)

I think you're right. Kind of tired here...but I've experienced it with B6 and can't say that it's very pleasant (nt for me, anyway). I'm gonna have to look it up tomorrow.

i was going to ask if there is niacin in gaba...you can get what is known as a "niacin flush".

                          GABA Rush!!!

Thanks everyone..I did some research and that response is reported. It's definitely not a hot flash. I can tell the difference. I don't enjoy it, unfortunately. Wish I did! / The report said that some people do feel it, some don't and that it isn't harmful.
