Haev a good read last night? I only swithced off the light at midnight. Quite enjoying the book. Normally I don't like long internal narratives, but this one is very well-written.

Hey, Bets.

I was lurking next door, and saw your post about mother-in-law. They can be HUGE triggers :-) I know mine is... The bloody woman stands in judgment all the time, doling out dollops of advice on how we should be raising the kids. I just try to grin and bear it... She does look after the kids when they come out of school, which is better than putting them into after-care, I suppose.

Hello all, just checking in to say goodnight.

No luck on the track today, but it was beaut and sunny.
Gale force winds predicted for tomorrow though and now it's raining (love listen to rain on the roof when I'm tucked up in bed)
My dad has arrived to stay for a few days, he had the fridge stocked with beer when I got home. He asked if I wanted one and I said "No thanks, I've stopped drinking". It was so cute, he asked if it was okay if he had a whiskey with our tea. I said of course it was.

No cravings for me at all (first time there has been al in the house in two weeks and I happily got the milk out of the fridge to make a cuppa)

Hey Zepps and Irish!

Zepps, thats fabulous to hear about your lack of cravings! Stay on guard tho wont you? My experience shows me that they can jump out of nowhere and be VERY strong. Then they will leave just as quickly.
Sorry the track wasnt more lucrative, but at least you sound happy and positive and that is priceless!!

Hi Starty - Yes I am all to aware of cravings. But I know now I can not moderate so my new motto is I can't stop at one, so I will have none

In the bad ole days I would have stopped at the bottlestore on the way home from the track. This time I am telling people I don't drink anymore and I am finding that easier. I think Dad was chuffed, the people at the track know I have given up drinking too. We always had "Brown O'clock" at the track. Same with at work.

How's your day going anyway Starts?

Thats great that people accept your choice. I kept getting asked if I was up the duff by my family!! Now I just say its because I take tablets to my family and anyone else a simple "no thanks" will do.

My day is OK, as you know I lost my job last year and am claiming benefits at the moment. Even though the dole office know of my volunteering and my re training AND they are supportive of my path, they put me on enhanced signing. In other words I have to go each week to make sure I am doing everything in my power to look for work. I was really p*ssed off about it but they said they couldnt get round it...anyway I talked to someone today and they said no way should I have to go in every week...****sigh*** I wish people would learn the rules....
Other than that, I am having a nice dossy day :-)
