It is the fine soil from the Simpson desert. I got up a while ago to eerie silence... the birds weren't singing, and it was a strange sunrise. All over the yard and on the neighbours' houses is a fine red dust. Looking across to the sea, it is like a reddish sea mist. I can even smell it. I've just taken some photographs of it. The weather bureau says it will settle later to-day. I'd love to have a bird's eye view of Sydney right now.
And we'd better get used to it, with global warming.

It's amazing Rags!!! There's dust inside our house (can feel it under my feet on the wooden floors) and we had the windows/doors closed last night...and we have zillion year old red dust inside our place in inner Sinney. Never seen anything like it!

G-String - I know that everyone (especially the birthday boy)will be "WHAT?? you're not drinking??? Oh no, but we were gonna party" and the honest truth that I'll tell him is that drinking doesn't make me happy, being there celebrating his birthday and spending time with our friends does make me happpy - so that's what I'll do.

Sure Rags, send 'em down. It's a lovely big cast iron claw foot number - plenty of room but I can't totally guarantee their safety. I'm a bit partial to a feed of yabbies.

Oh My God.....the DUST ..........the DUST......How about that orange sunrise ?....can't even see the mountains here. Boy is home from school. Buggered up my exercise routine.
