Hi Betty,
I think Ronnie went to the doc's, got some antibiotic's for the toe, but no info from her re her back. Sounds in a bit of pain though. Maybe if hubby got the hammer out on her opposite knee, the toe and back would be better.

Bridget! Are we all in the wars? Hope your foot is getting better & do not (under any circumstances) allow Mr G to tinker with it!
I am confused by the way.. (painkillers will do that to you) as to whose foot and whose back is now having problems..

Now Tawny I can not find any reference to "Pho" in my Grandmother's cookbook! This book, "Australian Home Cookery" does not have a published date in the front. In the back it says "Made and printed in Great Britain by Hazell, Watson & Viney, Ltd., London and Aylesbury". It is full of important advice on things such as "Lettuce Choosing" and "Table, How to Set" and yet I see no trace of Pho!

Mmmm let me share with you a recipe for
Sheep's Head Broth:

1 sheep's head 3 oz rice
1 onion 1 turnip
1 carrot 2 or 3 sticks celery
2 teaspoons salt Pinch pepper
5 pints water 1/2 teaspoon finely-chopped parsley

Method - soak and wash the head well in cold salted water. Split it, place in a saucepan with the rice, previously washed, and the water. Bring slowly to the boil. Add the vegetables, peeled and cut into dice, salt and pepper. Cover the saucepan closely, and simmer for 4 hours. Remove the head. Skim any fat from the broth, and add the parsley.

Hmmm I like that, "Remove the head"... Good Idea! :H
