        OCTOBER CHALLENGE...

        STARTS HERE!

Well as I said when I started this thread, my AF time is scheduled to start just before october. For me the start date is today, Sunday 27th September. It just so happens to fit my calendar. I know some of you have already started too. So for me at least here goes.

Glad to see a few additions to our tribe.

IDEA? Personally, I am a firm advocator of the drink tracker on here. I have just been having a look whilst filling it in for last night (my anniverary and an occasion at which I allowed myself to drink) and I saw a few of you are already there. I wondered if it would be worth us all joining (only if you are comfortable with the concept. I find it really good for keeping a record in any eventm, but especially it was good when I did my initial AF time (55 days) as each day I put another zero in, it felt good.

        Just a thought......

I love using the Drink Tracker! I get a kick every morning when I can put in a ZERO and paint it yellow!!!!

            OCTOBER CHALLENGE...

I think the drink tracker is a great way to track your success. I tend to not use it though if I am not putting in zeros. I have a hard time being honest with myself, so this is a great idea for me no matter what the number is, so I am committed to use it every day and you all can check on me (Okay??).

I really hope everyone here is successful with their goals and it seems they are all different and that makes it interesting. My goal is to have at least 30 days under my belt and then on to the remainder of the year. I did 30 days in June and did not feel like it was enough to truly get it out of my system. I didn't notice too many direct changes. Could be I am just daft???

Good luck to everyone in their journey.

Always room for you SUNSHINE...we're delighted to have you.

FREE I am pleased you are going to use drinktracker....and yes I will be checking...and no mistake!! LOL!

I too hope everyone will be successful on 30 days, but one thing is for sure, we will all give each other as much support as we can to get there and beyond.

I agree with FREE that it is interesting due to the different objectives that are becoming clear. Different people have different conerns etc.

On that note TAWNYWITCH are you taking milkthistle etc?? Milk Thistle and Apple cider vinegar are the two suppliments I take daily. ACV for general good health, its supposed to be good for everything! And Milkthistle of course is said to be the best thing for the liver. The liver is very forgiving TAWNY. Thats not to say we can abuse it and it will last forever, but the changes we are making will be worthwhile and your liver will thank you. If you havent already, get yourself some some milkthistle and start taking it immediately.

                      OCTOBER CHALLENGE...

Well I caved in last night an drank the small bottle in the fridge, I had 2 but the other on is going down the drain when I get off here, I feel awful this morning, headache from hell, shakey, had to cancel my ride , sick, but so happy because now I know that I will stop today, I don't want to feel like this again, if I had woken up and felt fine, I would still drink so I feel like shit and I am so ecstatic about it, off to make some soup and have a duvet day today, I will be coming here quite often today I think, hope you all have a good day, love and hug's.

                        OCTOBER CHALLENGE...

Welcome ANGEL...great idea OctSOBER! I am thinking it would be a great idea for an annual event. As a modder, one of the things I have decided to do is to have at least 2 significant peiods of time each year AF....I think OctSOBER will now become one of those regular times! This is my first year doing this, so its good to set a strong pattern now. This is day 3 for me also, its nice to have someone that started on the same day to work with.

TAWNY...good that you are going to throw the other bottle away, when you do watch it go down the sink or toilet/drain/whatever and think about what damage it would be doing if you had drunk it.......it would have made you feel how you do today. I hope you feel better soon honey, but if this gives you a starting point then every cloud has a silver lining

                          OCTOBER CHALLENGE...

Hey Tawney, I last drank on a Saturday and felt horrible also. I realized, like you, that it is just not worth it. And I was almost grateful to feel like sh** so I could truly commit to being AF. I cannot have wine in the house or I will drink it. So get that stuff out if that is what you have to do. When the hangovers last longer than the buzz, it is time to make changes.

I am excited for a sober October. I am going to really committ and plan, plan, plan. I will be coming to this site for support and will need help and will try to be there for all on this team. Yes, I consider this a team working towards being AF or whatever their particular goal may be.:h

                              OCTOBER CHALLENGE...

                              Go Team Go.....the OctSober Team....Yeah....

I am not a cheerleader by no means (as you can probably tell).

Tawny, You sound energized and hopeful. Isn't it amazing how a bad hangover can really get us motivated to no feel like THAT again. It's worked for me. Not completly, yet but I get smarter every time. I will outsmart this thing and everyone else can too. Next time you feel the desire to imbide, remember that headache and listlessness. The buzz certainly does not last longer that the after-affects as I have done much research and I know.

I good today and will add a zero to drink tracker. Looking forward to a sober October. What a great month to do so.

Good luck and good vibes to everyone.

                                OCTOBER CHALLENGE...

                                2 day count down...

Well its 29th september.....so we are rocking towards the official launch of OCTSOBER! Still love that!

Some of us have started ahead of time...but nonetheless I am excited about putting my first little zero on a new drink tracker page. I dont know how everyone else seeks to treat AF time, but for me I spend it re-engaging with me. Making sure I am just as able to enjoy things like going out for dinner completely sober and looking for alternative things to "treat" myself too. This week, I have planned a trip to the cinema on saturday evening with Mr Moo, thats always a nice things as it isnt in my head associated with AL anyway, but is a good night out. I am also considering treating myself to a massage the following saturday.....just a few thoughts. Does anyone else run a rewards system...or anything like it?

                                Love and support to all
