CS, I poured my mothers ashes into the ground on my birthday. Most people thought, oh poor greenie. Her birthday will never be a celebration again, clouded by this. Not at all!! I celebrate both of our lives on my birthday! I think your approach is wonderful - generating love and peace. God bless your sweet loving heart!

Hi everyone

It's Saturday afternoon here. Dad's funeral was yesterday, and things went quite well. I had a good day; decided to celebrate life rather than death. Still feeling rather numb today, though, and I suspect I will feel this way until Christmas, because I won't have time to properly process this till the semester is over. Thanks as always for all of your good thoughts. I am home alone right now (well baby is napping) so that could kinda be a danger zone.

Hi all,
Hubby and I are off to a party at one of his co-worker's. I hope to not think about funerals for a few hrs. It's a beautiful sunny day in Cleveland! And, it is also the 7th anniversary of my gamma knife brain surgery. No, I'm not kidding.

CS - I also just saw this thread and I am so sorry for your loss. I too lost my dad - on Sept 1 and have spent alot of time feeling despondent and down, even though he was a mere shell by the end. I'm feeling better now, knowing he is at peace. We will miss our dads though. Remember, he lives on within you.
