Hi guys,
How is everyone?
Sunny, thats an interesting observation you made about the sense of loneliness. I often wonder about that. Is it because we isolate ourselves BECAUSE we are drinking or we drink BECAUSE we are lonely?

Really struggling with jetlag today, I managed to sleep all morning then got right out into the countryside for a beautiful walk this afternoon. That blew some of the old cobwebs away and also set me in higher esteem with my dogs who have had the hump with me going away :-)

A walk in the English countryside sounds divine---I looove the UK, btw!

About the lonliness/emptyness/incompleteness thing, its a bit like the chicken and the egg storey-no---:H:H:H-NOT yesterdays' chicken thing that passed an egg when squeezed!!

Seriously, though, I woke up with a bit of a bumb the other weekend in Bloemfontein at the main dinner function. Everyone else, bar my hubby and I, were drinking red wine, and I realised that I didn't like the smell of it! What was that---I thought I loved red wine!
Made me think, why was I trying to get numb all the time by drinking??? And wherever possible, I mixed everything with Tab(diet cola)-so did i really enjoy the taste of AL?

When were you last over here ? I love the countryside too, just wandering around and checking out those little villages is pure joy for me.

I have to say I dont really like the taste of alc, I simply drank for the effects and to change the way I felt cos I really didnt like the way I felt. I think I have probably suffered from depression for a long time.

Yep, I think that's me too!

I,ve been over to the Uk many times, usually in December. I just love the Christmas lights in London. But the last time I was there was in spring, and the daffodils were just amazing!

Me too.

I didn't actually taste the vodka/white wine/red wine. I just poured it down my throat until the required effect happened.

Next time you're over, come a bit further north and I'll show you the Northumbrian moors.

Very jealous of your trip to the US tho.

We were in Boston last year for my godson's wedding.

Managed a couple of days in New York too.

Can't wait to go back.

Now THAT is a date, both of you!

We might have to come over one day soon - to see if anyone over there can help with my hubby's cervical dystonia - trust a doctor to get something rare, and not respond to the botox Rx like normal people.

He has had a really rough couple of years, was diagnosed with Leukeamia last year and had 6 months of Chemo (fortunately, it was chronic lymphocytic leukeamia, so he is ok as far as that's concerned now).
