    Has this ever happened to anyone?

    I finally found a therapist that I like and will see again. The session went great and he asked good questions and explained in detail what the plan could be. Since he does not know me that well he said it depends on what he sees needs to be done. Another bonus was my insurance covers a great deal. SO, I leave the meeting excited and ready to tackle the task at hand. I thought I would stop by the butcher since he is right down the street. I need some stuff anyways. Well, this is a German butcher and they always have my favorite beer cold and in stock. Well, the BEAST got to me and I had to get some. I was good for about 3 hours when I got home. I made a lunch and got some sleep since I work nights and had been up for almost 24 hours. Well, I did not sleep very well and decided to stop trying and of course have a beer. Well, it has gone down hill since. I have finished all 6 22oz bottles and wishing I bought more. I am trying my best not to walk out the door and walk to get some more beer.
    Why is this so hard? I had everything put in place. Baby steps I told myself but to no use.

    Anybody with like experiences?

    It has happened to everyone here, many times. You're not alone in the struggle.
    Just keep posting here, hop onto chat if you need a distraction. It's not going to be easy, but we're all here in this together to get through it.

      Yep I've promised my self that I wouldn't drink that day and then went to the supermarket for food, and there was lady giving free wine tasting...one sip and then I had to buy a bottle (or 2) and then drink them...The trick is to learn from it, after this experience if I felt my resolve was weak I would not go to the supermarket - everyone could eat toast for dinner if that's what it took to stay away from temptation.

        Thanks for the support. I am cleaning my spare bathroom to distract myself which is helping a little.
        I hate wasting away a great day. It can only get better.

          You will be amazed how clean your house can get when you find ways of distraction to not take that first sip. I've organized, purged and catorgized everything.
          It's better to go through a day like that, then suffering with a hangover and all the emotions that tag along with it. Plus, your house will be all sparkly.

              It's exactly like that for me. I'll think "I'll moderate, why not", buy a six pack; before I know it they are all gone and I'm wanting more. I don't know what it is, the tingling feeling I get in my stomach when I drink a beer? Makes me want to keep going, then the inhibitions go, and watch out. I've also found that I'm 300% more likely to drink the day AFTER I had a binge, since I've started tracking it. For the moment, my best option is to avoid the number 1 drink.
