I did a routine Google search of my name, and up popped my "Wishlist" from Amazon.com! --for all the f%#*ing world to see!!!

Books about alcoholism, recovery, depression, schizophrenia (my dad) etc. -- just what I DO NOT want prospective employers to see!

$*&^%#*& I'm just livid, as I write.

Once I logged in to my wishlist, I see there is now a new disclaimer at top of page, saying that wishlists are considered Public Domain -- unless you click here to make it Private. it's a little late for that.

Guys: if you shop Amazon.com, be careful about what books you have on your wishlist. If you have a wishlist, make it private. Or else cancel your account altogether, which is what I will do.

puddytat, did you ever play "Whack A Mole" at the fair? The days of privacy are over. OVER. I hate it. I always fill out the little fine print thing that says you have to do this this and this or your info will be shared. WTF??? I HAVE TO DO THE WORK? Yes, and even then it's pissing in the wind.

I have an unusual firstname and a really rare surname.
The PuddyClone (my identical twin) married someone with a super common lastname, and her firstname name is pretty common too ... like, there are four people within in her mailing zipcode with the same name! And tons more on the Web!
Me, I'm the only one out there with this name!
Thinking will change my lastname. It's the only way! We should all become John or Jennifer Smith :-) to protect our privacy.

Puddytat, I don't know. I don't do face book or any of that stuff. This is the only forum I visit. But, The links are not jut to your name but to content. Uh Oh.....

I googled myself and to this date my DUI that happened 4 years ago pops up!!!!! It was published in the county newspaper. I went so far as to call them and inquire why the information is not archived... ugh!!!!! It makes me sick -- I did my time, paid my debt to society but when I am googled I am punished again and again...

Haha. I've also got a fairly unusual name, but I've just Googled myself (never done it before) and found out that I'm a college rowing champion in Tennessee and a charity worker in Bangladesh.
