That's great on your test results, Sunbird! Improved health, probably the best benefit of being AF. My blood pressure's better now, too, one (of many) reasons I wanted to stop drinking. I'm a lot more conscious of healthy living now, I was real on and off before. So that kind of "normal" definitely is a good thing. If I was too normal though, it would mean aliens took over my body! :H

Good Morning Musketeers!

I'm PMSing, I'm grumpy, have to get back to my property this long weekend (Thanksgiving in Canada - but no family turkey dinner - so that's making me even more grumpy) and so, this may very well be the last time I see my place. I'm not in a great place today. But there are no drinking thoughts.

Anywho, I'll be gone until Monday - will be thinking of you - hope you'll have a great weekend!

Musta been something in the air... a cranky breeze or something Are you feeling better today, Dance?

Had a crummy weekend for the most part but also some cheerful moments. Had 5 friends come by the house on Sunday, helping out for a while, as well as 'catering' Thanksgiving pizza and cake :H So, while I wasn't feeling too grateful for most of the weekend, I certainly was thankful for the wonderful friends I have.

I will admit, that there were drinking thoughts - but they were dismissed

Yes, sunnybird, Sophie did make me laugh. I really shouldn't be so cheerful about her being a brat, but funnily, I just love her to death when she does stuff like that :H

Morning, Musketeers!

Something in the air is about right! Or maybe worldwide PMS! :stomper: Or sitting around this computer for 10 or 12 hours for 2 days straight. That would explain a lot. I can't even find the smilie I was looking for (did, then lost it). :H

Now I'm going blank.....maybe once this allergy pill kicks in. I live in one of the allergy capitals of the world or something, so swollen sinuses are just a way of life sometimes.

Has Sophie been getting into more mischief? I saw something you wrote somewhere else where she came to your house (but probably couldn't find it again - me and the post - not your horse and house!). A good horse laugh (was she was the one laughing?). They are a great source of amusement. I'm gonna check in with mine today, too. If it ever dries up enough, maybe ride again someday! Sunshine, we've gotta work on Sunbird....... subliminally make her want a horse.....

Sunshine, glad you got through the weekend and put the drinking thoughts in their place. You never know what could be a bigger trigger than normal, but you can be prepared.

You know, pizza and cake sounds like an easier alternative than turkey dinner (now that I'm the lone surviving female of the family, therefore the cook. How retro is that?). This is turning into a rambling dissertation......

Just passed my first ever(says she, a gran, blushing) mammogram and bone density scan with flying colours and many threats from the doc, as to what will happen if I leave it for such a long time once more!

I never had any of those either, sunnybird... and *sigh* apparently, I'm going to be a gran (cringe) as well. So not good on so many levels (for my girl, that is) - but we'll deal with it, I suppose.

Dance - I once saw this cartoon (wish I had printed it out) - a somewhat rough-around-the-edges lady sitting at her desk with the caption "I got PMS, a fifth of burbon, and a loaded gun - any questions?" :H I hope your sinuses clear up soon - I just don't think a runny nose would fit the mad gun slinging goddess of PMS image :H

No, Sophie has been behaving herself She always does, really (except that one day with the trailer - still don't know what the heck that was about). The nice thing is, she never does things to hurt or ill-spirited. She'll casually meander about if given the opportunity but she won't give you any trouble catching her. She's done it numerous times at my place. For a while, one of my 'gates' was simply 2 logs you'd have to slide in place... well, I watched her one day.. she'd look around to see if anyone (including the other horse) was about and then very gently lifted up the top rail with her nose, half way guided it down and then quietly dropped it. She then leisurely stepped over and went about her business. Which meant nosing around in the garage, get some better grass from the backyard, etc. :H

Speaking of turkey dinner... that's what I'm doing TODAY. Having a belated Thanksgiving dinner for the 2 of 5 kids that are in the vicinity tonight

My daughter is a single parent, and when she fell pregnant, my hubby was v.concerned, while i was elated! It has been difficult, but little P has been the greatest blessing ever. Her very existence was the one bright point when hubby was going thru chemo for leulaemia last year. And what they say is true-there is nothing quite like a grandchild!

Horses are defo on my agenda, when finances allow!

That's great you passed your tests, Sunbird! I'm the same way about avoiding stuff like that. If I get a yelling or lecturing doctor, I want to run and hide! I guess I need to act like an adult someday. :H But then, I'm still not sure I know what I want to be when I grow up!
I hope you, hubby, grand baby, and daughter are doing well. :h

Hope your Thanksgiving dinner goes well, Sunshine. Hang in there on the other stuff. I don't have kids, so I don't really have any experience on that end. Good does come out of negative experiences. Life is that way, it seems. Always evolving, often unexpected. Anyway I wish you and your daughter the best. Bet you'll be a wonderful granny too (and you look nothing like the one on the Beverly Hillbillies - sorry, the word "granny" made that image jump in my head). Stay strong - you'll make it. :l
