Tig, this week has been one of the hardest weeks so far. I really hit the wall as far as emotions were concerned yesterday. Today I had a chat with a counsellor to help me deal with stuff. This sure isnt for the feint hearted. BUT today I feel a lot better than yesterday and I want to keep going.

This week has been hard because one of the clients has advanced cirrhosis and it hit me yesterday that I might not be talking to him much longer. Its very strange how certain things can affect us sometimes.

These things WILL affect you, Starts. You're a caring person, which makes you ideal for the new career you're building. The downside is that you'll have to learn to steel yourself when these things come along. If you think what you've seen in this relatively short time, it must be distressing, to say the least.

What I learned today Oney was that we MUST ask for help and not feel foolish doing it.
I wasnt going to ask, I wanted to be the tough guy and deal with it by myself as I thought I would be thought of as weak to ask. Not so at all. Even the senior counsellors get something called "supervision" each week to help them offload. If they didnt they would be basket cases so they tell me....
