Oh, that's good. Maybe a treasure hunt type of thing. Also, I think the covered patio could make a good haunted house.

Halloween
I'm on a roll! You can have a woman hide in the dark in a tree or bush for 'The Witch Of The Woods'. One child at a time is led close, and asks for a treat. The 'witch' asks a riddle (and you can help the little ones with the answer) then when they're correct, a hand, maybe in black gloves or long fingernails, etc., comes out with a treat.sigpic
Never look down on a person unless you are offering them a hand up.

Halloween
BB, my kid's school had a fall festival where I was the fortune teller. I dressed like a gypsy, had a crystal ball (you can order them online, or put a small lite under a fishbowl and cover with a scarf). I had some kind of cards, and when people came in I'd get them to tell me what they wanted to know. With the kids it was so easy - you're going to do well on your exams after you study; yes, the boy/girl you like has noticed you, etc. I even had some adults come in several times, and I had a lot of fun telling them things based on what they told me and I picked up they wanted to hear - probably like a REAL fortuneteller they'd pay big bucks to!! LOL
One of the first Halloween carnival I remember had a fishing pond, and I remember it after 50 years. Have a cane pole with a long string and Clothespin on the end. The 'pond' is behind a curtain, wall, etc. You help the child throw the 'hook' over the wall into the pool, and someone attaches a treat or goody bag to the clothespin.
If you have enough adults participating, have a Haunted Sweets Walk. You put big cards with numbers on the floor in a circle. Everyone walks around the circle on the numbers til the scary music stops, then a helper draws a number from a bowl. The person on the number gets to choose from the baked goods supplied by the adults. Could be a cake, pie, big plate of cookies or homemade candy. Continue til all the sweets are gone.sigpic

Britt, I see a beautiful, sober future for you - you deserve it!!!
So glad the babe is better. There's no worse feeling for a mom than watching our little ones suffer.sigpic
