    THE NEXT DAY THREAD, October

    P.S Reg.
For me, it's the 'gratitude' thinking, not the 'deprivation' thinking of feeling i'm missing out, that is the key to it being so easy now, for me to be in a bar. I actually enjoy the atmosphere, if the company's right. Just thinking aloud, and thought i'd share......

      Yes, thanks Mr. G

Just starting to wind down the work week ahead of the weekend

Plenty to do to keep me out of trouble on Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. T is a whizz at inventing work...

Mr G: Cooly cool. Hope you get it on the airwaves soon!! You are doing so well, particularly as you are in bars. You must have great resolve. My motto is... if you don't want to get drunk, don't go to the pub.

Fickle: Yep in the end you gotta trust they know what they're doing.

          Hey Mr G..

You've mentioned the "Gratitude" vs "Deprivation" thinking before...

I think it's an important change in perception and probably vital for long term success..

That is a huge step, though. I hope to get there one day.

I reckon that is the closest any of us will get to being "cured"

              Hi Rag's, thanks.
The man with a plan, Tip. Right on!
G'day Wavey poo's. Yep, i can see that this type of mindset is really the trick. How to get there, of course! Well, for one, i just try to appreciate everthing i have, and am lucky enough to do, and be, in relative freedom. Have you checked out the 'gratitude vs. Deprivation' spiel in the toolbox thread? It's a beauty, and i think very helpful.

                  THE NEXT DAY THREAD, October

Tip. I used to be anxious as all hell in a social situation, when newly af, even with good friends, let alone in a bar. I've just found that time spent alcohol free, and i'm probably talking quite a few months, my thinking just changes, and kind of grows in other area's/interests as i grow, and discover me again. I just naturally don't tend to have booze popping into my mind much these day's. Probably simply cause i'm not really missing it, and i see how happy and free i feel now, if that makes sense....?

Reggie, you're welcome. With a 'gratitude' sort of thinking, living without grog is easy for me, so know this to be true. Just sticking it out to get there, is also the trick. We've got to just do whatever we can to stay sober, think positive, then one day, there is a shift in our thinking. At least for me there gradually was. See if you can find/read that 'grat vs. dep' spiel in toolbox thread.
