Well, just read up...we've actually just been to the market and I bought 3 more lettuce seedlings (for $1!!)and they are happily in their new pot now.
I also bought 4 types of cheese from the cheeseman...we're off for a picnic in the park soon, oh, these puppies are sooo good - there's Pyengana cheddar from Tassy that is outa this world.
Which reminds me........I wonder how Rags is doing *wave* in case your reading but haven't worked out the posting thing!!!

Mame - Mister 4 wants a cat for Christmas....I think an adult cat from the shelter is best...can't bear training them etc (and I'm currently trying to train Mr2 but he don't wanna know...)

Yum, roast lamb! What time you expecting us tomorrow Reg??!

Angel, until we adopted our two kittens, I'd always got adult cats from the SPCA as well. (although most kittens will probably have already been toilet trained unless they have been feral or have been orphaned). Dont get an ex-feral - they can never really be domesticated enough for kids. I have some friends with two lovely cats that were feral - but they come and go as they please, and can turn nasty quickly.

One thing I would strongly recommend is to try to spend a bit of time with the cat before you adopt it, or talk to the staff at the shelter about its personality. Its been really interesting seeing how our foster cats are very different at home from how they are at the SPCA!!! The first mother cat we had was a real treasure, but she was a bit odd looking and very shy with other cats, so would hide away at the shelter and took ages to be adopted out. While another one we had who hated people and wouldn't let you near her was adopted out literally 5 minutes after we took her in, because she was little and cute looking.!!

If you get a chance go for one with Maine Coon in its genes ....... they are becoming more popular in NZ so I presume they are in Oz as well. Big and fluffy - but very low maintenance (they look as though they would shed hair but they dont) .... incredibly gentle in nature, great with kids and love being cuddled, but actually quite independent. Our wookie is one, and I haven't met anyone yet who hasn't completely fallen in love with him!!! They are the most common breed of moggy in the US, and lots of web site stuff on the breed.

Great day here .... if I wasn't feeling so buggered I would be feeling very virtuous. Somewhat stiff after the run yesterday, and gardening today, so went into the gym with Uncle Mame for a littl gentle 30 mins on the bike, and then a sauna!!

Only slight cloud is that my Mum is not managing too well at home, and said to me this morning that she thinks the time has come where she may need to go into nursing care, at least in the short term. This is a real biggie for her as she is so independent. Anyway, we'll see her GP next week, and see what he says. I'd probably feel a lot more anxious about this if I didn't know that there is one very close to here that is excellent, and Mum used to do volunteer work there, so she is pretty familiar with it and would feel comfortable there.

Anyway,, off to lie on the couch in the sun with my book and chill out for the rest of the day!! Have a good sat night everyone!!
