Morning everyone...I got cocky. Went out Friday night and was happily AF, woke up Sat morning and thought 'Geez, I'm really getting the hang of this AF gig - taking to it like a duck to water' so Sat night it all fell apart.
But, it's all learning and I'm back in - I've had a few occasions now when I would usually drink and have been AF. I remember the first time at a restaurant and I swear everyone in there picked up their glasses and took a sip when I looked at them, drinking drinking everywhere!!! So each time I do it AF it's good practice & gets a little easier.
Ficks - I'm glad to see you going for another 30.
Reggie & Wavey - LOL at your fishing stories. Reg, was the starfish you squashed a pest???
G - I'd love to hear some music too...
Tawny - Gee, that lady you described is a lucky lucky lady- what a generous husband :H
Bridge - where for art though???
Bets - Are you just having too much fun now you have your house back??
Mame - hows it going love??

Thanks for the links Reggie, shall peruse today.. kids off to school again at last.. phew! You sounds as good a fisherman as I - tried fishing with my son we have a great time but I am always the bugger who freaks once the fish is caught and throws it back - I just can?t deal with murdering it! Off to the fish n chip shop afterwards to make amends LOL :H:H:H

Morning all
It seems that everyone had a great weekend, hubbie played his first baseball game yesterday of which I have now been roped in as manager, we lost but it was a good game considering we were playing an under 19's team and the average age in our team is about 30years old.
Angel.....Im back in with you, as I also had a few drink Saturday
I really want to get some AF days behind me, although I dont drink that much anymore but I know my drinking is creeping up....So could I please ask my lovely friends on here for a little bit of help & support, that way I will feel as if i am letting everyone down if I have a drink. There I have asked for help, and god it feels good.
Well my boys go back to school tomorrow.....heven.....

Afternoon everyone,
Well, I may as well be on another planet with all the days I've missed not reading your posts!
Got up early this morning.. what a glorious sunrise. Drove up to Sydney to pick up some paperwork I have to have finished before I go o/s on Friday (getting closer). Then some more running around. So far to-day I've clocked up 380 km and still another 50 or so to do this evening... so much for my trying to limit my carbon footprint! And I still won't have time to see the Kevin and Paul Hogan movie.... whatever it's called, before I go away.

Morning all, and yes welcome PW! This is a grand place to be. Good to see Rags, Ronnie & Bridge popping back in.

Rags, I was thinking.. maybe you could use the time your doc is away to get a 2nd opinion? I know that?s what I did when the waiting time was long. It made me feel better to check out the competition and be a little more in control of the situation.

Crashed my diet last night. Bought a pack of timtams for the kids and after they squabbled I ate 4. Hrmph! Blasted kids. Better to crash into a packet of timtams than a cellar I suppose.

Pretty sure I've started withdrawing from the codine. Had two wierd nights in a row & last night was worse.. popped a valium at 2am and slept well after that. Last 2 days were depressing as having constant back pain & not walking so well. I may attribute that to stopping the painkillers. Ahh moods.. Blah.. This too shall pass.

In the meantime go well everyone & have a great day!

Hi all,
just popping in. Have been working like a trojan trying to catch up on stuff that I am behind on ..... am now either up-to-date on the "absolutely had to get this done" stuff and with everything else I have told people that I wont be meeting their deadlines and not committing to any new ones because of family reasons. It has taken a lot of pressure off and I''m now feeling much better able to manage things. And pacing myself.

My mum is much better - back home, lots of food in the fridge and freezer (Uncle Mame cooked up a storm on the weekend!!) and has recovered a bit of energy and spirit. Her last remaining sister is coming to NZ in November as is one of my other brothers, so that is keeping her looking forward to things.

My brother with cancer not so good and I am about to hop on a plane again to spend the next couple of days with him. His haemoglobin count is really low. (60 - normal for males is 130-180 ....). He has been through a lot in the last couple of weeks, but his spirit is still good and he is becoming extraordinarily peaceful.

I cant post on MWO while I'm away (it is probably technologically possible, but I cant work it out!!) but I can log in so I'll be reading anyway! Have a nice week everyone

Happy lunchtime

Nah Bridge - no mischief on the horizon.

After a couple of glorious days, it's back to 13C, drizzling and very windy. That's really interfering with my Bushfire Plan. I've been endreavouring to reduce all fuel and create as many buffer zones as possible. "They" are already scaring me sh*tless by telling us that the next fire season will be worse than that of last Feb. So that, in part, explains my manic need to mow and slash and burn before Fire Restrictions commence.
