I think that is the only thing I miss about the UK is that you could get your food delivered. mind you I have found a kebab place near me but they dont bloody deliver and although their kebabs are lovely they are also very small.

Thanks Ronnie---In SA, your kebab is a shwarma, except it usually has v.good lamb inside the pita with the lettuce etc., Quite delish!!

A kebab in SA is chunks of marinated either lamb, beef or chicken, interspersed with chunks of tomato, onion, green pepper, pineapple or really, whatever. Also delish!

Sunbird...you are totally right what you have described is a kebab....but in the UK it all depends on where you go to buy it to whether the meat is good or not.......lol

Oney, when you come out here, we'll have to aquaint you with our version of kebabs and schwarmas. You also need to try bobotie, boerewors, Koeksisters, melktert and lots of other dishes that you perhaps have not tried before.
