I gave up smoking. I was heading for 30 and did not want to enter into my 30s smoking and I succeeded in doing it. It was amazing as I was a heavy smoker indeed , 30 a day, more when I drank (weekends 50!). I used positive vilualisation and it worked. To this day I meet peeps I worked with back then whose first question will be, 'are you still off the smokes?", they are still amazed!! Never thought Id do it.

Anyhow, 10 yrs on I find im at the same crossroads with drink, I do not want to enter my 40s a drinker. I have tried, (albeit not very hard) to pack it in and I have failed, several times but I am determined this time to do it. I have 11 weeks till the dreaded day , however if I succeed with my af journey I will enter my fourties fabulously...
Wish me well my friends, I know I can do it!! (but not without your help and support!)

Feck, am i glad to hear you talking like this! Go for it. AF life is amazing, it does exist(!), and it is indescribable, such are it's level's. I stopped smoking about 15 yrs. ago, and it is hard, but now? I don't even think about 'em. I used the same tools/thought processes to give up booze.
You've always got a great attitude, between the lines on the screen, and that attitude and spirit will see you do this.
Love you heaps, and so excited for you.......cause i believe you!

Best of luck limers. I successfully gave up the fags 2 years but i'm struggling with drink. I finding it harfer to quit al but i don't stop trying. I have cut back a bit so its a start all i can do is odat.
