Day 5. What an accomplishment! Good decision to stay away for right now from friends who are drinking. The cravings are hard to resist, but they do go away. I find I have to have a plan. The tool box was helpful to me and still is. Identifying my witching hours, the time my cravings are most likely to hit, and having a plan is vital. Positive thoughts are being sent your way.

Welcome to Day 6 Bob! You are doing GREAT! A wise decision, I think, to stay away from AL right now. The friends who really care about you will understand, and be willing to do non-AL related things with you when you are ready to venture out a bit. The ones who may only be "AL friends" might fade off the radar. That's OK and normal too.
Finding new sober friends and new sober activities that are far removed from AL has been a vital part of my recovery. Creating a new life where AL just doesn't fit the circumstances.
If I can, you can too. Strength and hope for today!
DGSobriety Date = 5/22/08
Nicotine Free Date = 2/27/07
One day at a time.

Hey you all,
Hope all is well.
Well going on day 8 !!!
I'm feeling good, know now that I can do this !
I haven't really had any cravings since day 5.
I guess the supps. and Campral are doing their job.
I'm still at the ex in-laws.
But think that I'm going home this weekend.
That will be the real test !!!
There is a lot of AL (all of my favorites) here but I have direct accountability here.
I also have been real busy helping Dad work on his house.
But when I go back home I'll not have either.
I still have the accountability to you all.
I WILL NOT FAIL THIS TIME !!!!!!
But it is still scary for me!!
Still not sleeping well at all.
I just can't get the ex off mind !!!!
Stopped taking the sleeping pills (not working why put that crap in my body).
Again I thank you all for your support!!
I don't know if I would have got this far without it!!
Keep the prayers coming they are working !!!
I'm sending them out to you all !!!
WE CAN DO THIS !!!
MUCH LOVE and PEACE to you all !!!!
