    Drunk Dreams

I had my 1st "drunk dream" during an afternoon nap today.

I woke up, with the taste of vodka in my mouth. My 1st thought was: where did I hide the bottle this time? My mind (and heart) began racing as I tried to remember what I had done with it.

Then it hit me: I hadn't been drinking. I was sober and clear-headed.

I've been sober sine 21 August. I didn't think that kind of thing would happen. It left me quite shaky, and I've asked my wife to run afternoon errands, because I feel like I can't trust myself today.

Has it happened to anyone else, and how did it leave you feeling?

    Yep!
I woke up one morning about three months ago after a dream and I could have sworn that I had a hangover. I'd been dry for about six months at the time and I lay in bed for a good three or four minutes before I realised that I had been dreaming, and what a relief that was.
    So vivid!

Me too! I still have drinking, using and smokng dreams from time to time and they can be very vivid. In the early days I did wake with what felt like a hangover. At first it used to shake me up pretty badly, not so much now. As time goes on, they do seem to become less bothersome.

The drinking dreams are very common. Once I realized that, I just looked at it as proof my braincells were actually "drying out" from all the Alcohol I had been pickling them in for a lot of years. I very seldom have drinking dreams now.

I've had a few. The latest ones at least I am disgusted with myself (in the dream). I actually feel the buzz, too. One I woke up so shaken, thought I'd actually done it, my heart was pounding at the thought, then I realized it was only a dream. Good thing, I was so upset with myself!

Me too Tip. They can be so vivid, as folk's have described. Had one the other night that i was going to moderate. BJesus! Was relieved when i awoke from that one! I don't get them much though, once in a blue moon. I suspect it's our mind in the process of changing/clearing out, very ingrained habit's, etc....

I had a dream that I was coming off a bender and all sweaty and paranoid at work, just a few hours ago...

During my post surfing Nanna Nap..

I woke up bathed in sweat and quite upset..

Took me 20 minutes to feel OK again..

And I am still drinking! Just not as much..

                      Hi Tip

I have a recurring dream that I'm driving uncontrolably. Freaks me out.
