    Rain in My Heart Documentary

Hi everyone , :new: and just found this thread, reading it a bit up and down to get an impression, and decided to join in. I have not actually seen the videos but from what I read I get a good picture.

Don't think I will watch them soon, cos Very emotionally unstable atm, try to protect myself from whats too painfull right now. But I would like to share about how things were, what AL does or did to us. I like the mood of this thread.

FTR. I am still trying to get my hands on some good baclofen through various ways, but have not succeeded yet. Doing it on will power today, with tranquillizers help, and vague withdrawls, but nothing too serious. This site and some threads in particular have helped me enormously already, eeventhough I have many drinking nights. But tonight Im sober, my firts in 5 days. I glad found you and yes, remembering what it was like when very bad.

Ive spent 3 months in a 12step clinc, but a few AAyears later, I stumbled and fell, and kept falling. I need threads like this to talk to the better part of me and not let the dark part win.

Anyway thank you all for sharing, and all the best to you! Hope to see you around a lot here!

Hi Joan, well done on trying and succeeding even for a short time is a good start. I gather you've read the toolbox thread in Monthly Abstinence? If not give that a try. Also Newbies Nest might help you hook up with like minded individuals. Lots of really great people on various threads here. Watching this video is good information, though. We all know it's bad to drink to much. This documentary shows you why. And how. Good luck, keep posting

WOW - What a mind jolt.
This type of material is something that I need to see at times to keep me on an even keel and to know that the decision that I have made is the correct one.

            Sobering

Thank you for posting the links to this documentary. It should be showing in every liquor store around the country. It has made me realize the horrors of the end result of AL. How sad for them, how terrible for how it rips at the family. My resolve is strengthened, I will beat this, and I will be AL free for good.

Very powerful documentaries. Watched some of them again last night - when witching hour approached and they really helped!! Would thoroughly recommend to anyone with an alcohol problem.

                  Rain in My Heart Documentary

I am sooooo happy that this documentary is still proving to be so helpful to everyone. I watched it again and again in my early days and then while working in an addiction agency I met people just like the Vandas etc. It truly is a sobering experience and one that is very helpful in our early days of recovery.

This documentary is very sad but a real eyeopener, really gives you some perspective of how out of control things can get.

I'm watching #4 right now. Vanda's story is really grabbing me. All the more reason to NOT pick up another drink.

                          How to copy to DVD?

Does anyone know how I can copy all 10 parts onto a DVD so I can put it on the TV for my husband to watch - he really needs to see this and I need to see it again too!

                          Thanks

I am sorry I missed this when it was first posted. After just now seeing these, I am convinced I would have respected my sobriety a lot more than I did. Must see for any alcoholic struggling with the desire to not drink.

I've watched these, they are very hard hitting, and a very realistic view of alcoholism, we see so many stories of addicts in the press but it tends to be glamorised from a celebrity point of view with rehab being a sort of holiday! But this is the real deal.
I've been in the lonely hole when alcohol is all I can think about and I don't want to go there.
