I had mine in my profile for ages, which I rotate as I get fed up of seeing it (this one was taken on Thursday and my hair wasn't combed and no make-up on .... grrrrr ... hence my wavy fringe) .... I used to be so scared of admitting I am an alcoholic ... but tough ... that's what I am and that's it ..... when my parents asked me last time I visited in the summer (they live far, far away ...LOL) they asked me if I am still not drinking or do I want a glass of wine ..... blew me away ..... I finally said I can't drink again sorry ...

Anyway, I think you ALL look great (especially you Hippie ... what a difference being sober and clean makes eh ?) .....

        Awesome, it's catching! WTG, Shiraz!

We are all PEOPLE - sometimes that can be overlooked, I think. And, I agree with Phil - growth does require some vulnerability. Btw.. you're a cutie, Hipster

Starty - you have nothing to be ashamed of. Nothing. You are a beautiful woman fighting her way to being well. You are to be commended.

Tippy, Popeye, Ctch, and Firefox - thank you for sharing the 'real' you :l

Ya know, most everyone has a skeleton or two in the closet. Not just us here, but everyone you meet and greet. Be it substance abuse, eating disorder, mental health issues, and probably stuff we can't even conceive. We all have our cross to bear and those who feel inclined to judge probably carry the largest.

Ok..I chickened out. Maybe when I have more AF time, I'll have more cahonas...
I guess I noticed that the most the abbers don't feel the need to be anonymous. Sunnie's right though, you have to feel uncomfortable sometimes to move forward.

I did put a photo of me at a wedding last month in my profile. baby steps...

Love the idea Shiraz. There was a time in my life where I couldn't even contemplate doing something like this, but I am no longer ashamed of who or what I am.

                  Hi Everyone,
Thanks you so much for sharing your likeness! It really personifies the people we truly are . Addiction can affect all of us from any walk of life. Some are good at hiding it (I was the master) and others around are "surprised" when they find out. Anyway, each and everyone of us are beautiful as we have come here to share w/ others our experiences and continue to support each other. I must say, we are a good looking bunch.

Been away but found my way back . . .

                      Hey Shir and everyone . . .

I too have no clue how to post my pic. any advise would be helpful. Love the concept, and the pics of us as children is very cute. Makes a person wonder how and where that innocent wonderful little person got caught up in the crazyness of life.

I've been away from MWO for a couple of months, with grandkids to caregive and doggie care for friends and family, OMGosh I've been busy and I don't even have a job outside the home. Who knew early retirement could be so darn busy, but I'm lovin it . . .

Blessings and wellness to everyone . . .:l

Polaryzed, you change it under 'Under CP' and then select 'Edit Avatar.' If you then scroll to the bottom and select 'Customer Avatar' you can then browse to any photo on your computer and upload it.

                        Clear as mud??

I'd happily post my picture...if anyone that knew me read any of my posts it wouldn't take but a second to know who I am...my screen name is my 2 children...Brittany and Zak..hence Brittzak. I have always been open in regards to my issues. For me it does make me accountable. As long as no one knew...I was able to hide the binges I went on...except of course to my children and best friend cause they were THERE. Once I started sharing my problem, I have had many many days sober. I dont hide behind myself anymore. I dont know how to change my picture, but it is posted in the gallary!

Oh Geez, I do feel vulnerable!!!
I don't think any of us should be ashamed of who we are...having a problem with alcohol doesn't make you a bad person (although I do feel like it at times)
There's many many people out there with similar issues who never try to deal with them.
                              Nice to see you all.

Here's one of me and my family (which have currently seperated from me and quite possibly permanently). If anything, finding thess pics has helped me realize even more who I am and what I want!! Thanks for all your thoughts and assistance. MWO is truly a great place.
