    Decreased effectivess at increased dose???

    Hello all
Just a quick question- has anyone found that by increasing their dose of topa they have had a decreased level of effectiveness against cravings etc? I know this is an odd question etc. but I swear, I have just gone up to 150 mg and I think that my cravings are higher the past few days since increasing my dose,...is this possible???
    Has anyone else experienced this?
Perhaps somethinig else is at work here?
    Jen

      Hey

      Hey there
I am doing the supps though I admit I ran short of kudzu a couple of days ago and am waiting for my new supply so I am taking about half as much as usual....
Could that be making all the difference??
      I dont have the CDs...

        Hey Jenneh,

I'm not on topa but can tell you kudzo is critical in subsiding my cravings - stay strong until your shipment arrives.

          Hi Jenn,

I find that different doses do different things for me but with no real rhyme nor reason---75m and no cravings, 125 and lots of cravings---go figure. Also, the updosing seems to take about three days to level out and stablize.

More I'm on the program, more I find that stress and my constant friend PMS (sigh) have the most effect on my drinking. As I've updosed this last week from 175 to 200mg, I've also started taking isoflavones with genistein and daidzein, and flax oil. So far I've not had the cravings as bad, nor the mood swings.

          Good luck!

            Hi Gloria

            Hi Gloria
Thanks - its funny you say that because I was experiencing this sudden increase in cravnigs (really sudden, first time since starting topa) in the first couple of days after increasing to 125 mg so I will sit tight and ride them out - hopefully just temporary. Also I have been under temendous stress AND had my time of the month lately (sorry guys AND running low on kudzu so.....
Hey, excuse my ignorance, but what aer these "isoflavones with genistein and daidzein" you refer to?
            Thanks!:l

Yeah, what are those, Gloria? I'm interested too. I'm close to the same dose as Jen and have some ups and downs with the topa. Would love any added boost.
              Thanks.

                Dosage

I have just ordered the Topa, have not started but have read a number of the messages. My plan is to start out at a 12.5 mg, one time a day. My rational is that my brain needs to adjust to the chemical change slowly. After a week to increase to 12.5 twice a day and monitor my behavior as I adjust. Has anyone taken this approach? New to the MWO....By the by what is the recommended dosage per day?

                  Isoflavones for Women

                  Hey ladies,

As I understand it, isofavones are soybased natural hormone---estrogen in particular. (What's one more supplement when we're popping them by the handfull?) I'm 45 and moving into menopause land Big Time, no hot flashes but huge mood swings around my period--like had to remove myself from the room while watching Little Mermaid with my daughter because I was sobbing so hard. Geeze.... One viewing of Lassie Come Home and they'd institutionalize me. You can get the isoflavones alone but the Genistein and Daidzein are natural testosterones which as I understand it is the key--balancing the estrogen/testosterone. That's really helped with my sex drive which had plumeted. (I think that was a side effect of the Topa but can't vouch for it.) Just two weeks of the supplements and while I'm still a bit weepy at times (stress at work has skyrocketed), I'm nothing as bad as I was. And, ahem, all's well on the home front if not better than before. There's something to be said for older women. Yee Ha!

                  Gotta run to work....

Now, where the hell are those tweezers?

I'll ask my crazy herbal lady about them.
Thanks! Hubby will appreciate it.... WINK.
