I am down from 2 or 3 bottles of Chianti a day/night to zero. I am still drinking, but ONLY to stave off the worst of the withdrawal symptoms. I am drinking one tablespoon of brandy in a full glass of sparkling water or fruit juice (mostly pomegranate). No cravings at all, but my sleep is gradually returning to normal, I have a bit more energy, and the sweats and anxiety are tolerable with help from the 5-HTP, SAM-E, B Complex, L-Tyrosine and Olive Leaf Extract.
I am also now a HUGE fan of this supplement: SEREDYN - Immediate Anxiety Relief - Natural Anxiety Remedy I keep it by my bed for those lovely little 3:30am panic attacks. In the past, I have taken Xanax. Valium and Dilantin for same, and NONE of them worked nearly as well. I love this stuff!! It has really smoothed over some of the harsher bumps in the road— and without any side effects. My dad's co-worker's wife woke up with a panic attack, took one Xanax pill and went back to sleep. She never woke up again.
Because there is very little to no buzz from such a small amount of brandy mixed with juice or fizzy water, I'm gradually adjusting to life without that feeling. My biggest issue is boredom. I trying to keep busy and taking on some new projects. Progress is slow, but steady. Bonus: my tummy loves me again and my appetite is returning.
I hope to be AF by Nov. 1st and plan to abstain entirely throughout the month of November Thanks for the support, and especially, for steering me to the "Rain in My Heart" documentary. After seeing that, I can never go back to the way I was. That really was the ultimate turning point for me ...
