Aspy - yup - I know about that plant but don't think I could 'enjoy' it. I have enough trouble with the smell of daisies. Yukkkk.

THE NEXT DAY THREAD - NOVEMBER
Evening all!
It's very odd walking into a new job first day! Anyway, all's well, and a welcoming, warm, good bunch of folk's, as you all are here, with your well wishes, and grooming/wardrobe encouragement.
A new set of strings are in the post for your vented mandrel, Tawny. Where was this one manufactured?
Angel, yep, coffee with the Boozer was nice. She was in great form, and i even got a word or two in. I passed on everyone's regard's.
Great stuff on the af journey Chook. Go for it, and keep us posted! You reckon 'Horti-chook' sounds kinky, do you?...err.........ok.
Bridge, Nup, i wouldn't have dreamed i'd be where i am now a year ago, or with this attitude, focus, and relaxed happiness, that i have. It's pretty special, and indescribable really. But we've just got to put in a bit of work for awhile, then we're off!
A magical evening to all.
What's cookin' Wavey?

[QUOTE=tawnyfrog;753478]
Bridge - our evil work is just beginning. Let's get them excited about Wollemi Pines. Muahhhhhahahha. I've worked out that messing around with plants is an essential part of nurturing my own inner garden.
Couldn't agree more M'dear. I'm very grateful for my little cottage and it's garden at the moment.
Well done on Day 3 Angel.
So great that you've got a good group of people to work with Mr G. Makes all the difference. Did the clobber pass muster ? :H
That flower is astonishing Asp.If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Evening All!
Are Vented Manderels not a plant from Harry Potter???
I tell you what, this work thing is challenging. Had a call this morning just as I was settling down for my 3rd coffee?- where was I? I'd been rostered but no one told me. Rushed in to chaos, working with another part timer, who does everything differently, and then I realised I was actually rostered to do a late, and at the end of the day the cash was short. Lots of Embuggerance. But I'm not going to drink.
You all sound good today though?
Chook - I have loads of tomatoes turning red, some rocket sprouting, and my chilli plants are sprouting - I love it!
Onwards and Upwards.

does anyone else have a shocking short term memory?
I had always thought mine was part of my make up, but a little while ago there was a shock story on a current affair show about 'binge drinkers'. they interviewed these woman who had drunk more than a bottle a night for over ten years, often two bottles. My initial thought was if that was news worthy, I should ring opra cause I was drinking a hell of alot more than that at the time. anyway they showed signs of damage to their short term memory, what was my point
oh yer, lol,do you guys know if that improves? I would love to hear it from someone who has first hand experiance. was thinking of those mental excersizes for your memory to improve mine, but i always forget to look into it...hehe...AF since 10/26/2009

Morning all!
Asp, well, i suspect my short term memory is improving since ditching the grog. My train of thought is more focused, though i can still 'vague off' and lose track (between me and you), but i'd say generally, my memory, and general thought process is better. I'm a musician, so my head is in the clouds at the best of times, so i mightn't be the best one to answer your question, but clarity of mind is improving, as my brain very slowly repair's itself. I suspect some of our short term memory loss may stay, depending on the damage we've done, but i'd reckon we get back a fair bit?
If you search this site, there's bound to be some info about this. Just remember to research it......;-)
And for Bridget........'Sobriety lay's within your very soul, you already have it, you only need to rouse it' (Starlight impress)
Have a great day folk's!

Morning joyful ones,
Am staying quiet to focus on getting/being AF.. almost there for a few days now.. so close I am pretty happy for now & know I shall be back to glorioius AFdom soon.
More power too ya Aspy for powering through your 2 weeks!!
Well done G with the new job and all.. very happy for you.. was thinking of you Monday
Good work to all our gardeners big and small.. yes a crucial part of my life and food for the soul. Horti-Chook - you can just cut apart the little egg parts of the carton, snip a little hole in the bottom and plant the whole thing.. carrot should grow thru OK.
Hugs to everyone & that is all.

Morning all.........
Well Betty & G have inspired me & today I'm sending off my resume to get a job. I need adult company & to earn some $$...was thinking about changing careers but I do love the Ragtrade so I'll go back & pray I don't get a narcissist of a boss (highly likely in this industry)
Tawny - I spent a good 5yrs in the area just outside of Sinny where the Wollomi Pine was rediscovered. It's s a stunning part of the country & I still dream of one day having a property there.
Aspman - have we met?? Just kidding - I imagine the brain, like he other organs, regenerates itself...and so if we're not killing brain cells at a rate of knots then it must improve - that's my theory anyway.
*wave* to everyone else - Mame if your reading - sending you strength.

Morning all,
Aspy - I find my short term memory is shot but my long-term memory is improving. What's that all about? I'm remembering stuff I hadn't thought about for decades ...
Everyone is sounding very positive and on track today. Nice to see. Hope Reggie is sorting his stuff out.
Back later when it will be too hot to stay outside.

Morning all
it looks like another lovely day here again, but yet another day cleaning, i am slowly getting my strength back from when my mate was out here, its really surprising how visitors can drain so much out of you, mind you I have the in-laws out here on Sunday for 10 days but at least they will not want to go out here, there and everywhere (I hope) and as far as I know they are not big drinkers so thats a bonus. while my mate was over we went biking it round rottness island, I was surprise at it looks like an old fashion holiday camp, but the beaches were out of this world...just thought id share that all with you.
Well im ramberling now so id better go and sort my boys out, hope you all have a fab day:dancin: enguin:

Smoke-O,
Hmmmm, what are they all up to in here ?
Aspman, my short term memory and mental acquity are shot to shit, no to put too finer point on it. I have particular problems verbally recalling. Especially with Nouns.
Even after two weeks sober I noticed a HUGE difference with this, and was almost back to my usual articulate self. I'm glad you bought it up actually. I was so worried I wanted to start a thread on exactly this subject. Must do some research on .................................................. .............................................. Oh Christ, where am I ...........................................who ARE you people ?????? :nutso:
Keyboard playing up.
See yous tonight. If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?
