NO-Bender Challenge
Morning No-benderers & thanks for the good wishes hdb.
I actually took a sip of Mr Cakes' wine last night...but it just made me think of feeling dehydrated & with no energy the next day. I also thought "I'll regret it" and "if I have even one glass I can't un-have it...what's done is done" so I stuck to water.
Today I feel very calm, happy, proud...thanks for the support guys - you (and me) saved my arse.

Hi evryone- another day and still AF- really good to see everyone is still here- last night was bad for me too Angel C !Fortunately husband was drinking beer otherwise...... it could have all gone pear-shaped.I keep thinking that if I had all the trauma Aunty M has in her life I don't think I would be coping half as well. Thanks for the advice and support hdb- hope the weekend plans are going well and thanks to ruby W for the voice of experience. Hectic day today as we're having the house re-roofed- at least it will keep me busy- Love to all and keep up the fight - R

Evening all, just reporting in to congratulate everyone for still being here.
Had some unexpected visitors which threw me off track the last few days but beginning again with renewed enthusiasm. Having an early no-bender night to ensure I stay on track.
Had a good day today with kids planting veggies & varnishing some old bed-heads for their rooms.
Night all & look forward to catching up better soon.

Roberta - well done on getting through Sat night...it's so worth it.
Ficks - good to see you matey - unexpected visitors caused my Oct-Sober to come unstuck...surprises just aren't a good thing in the early AF days...I need to be super aware, one foot after the other kinda stuff so I know how that can throw you.
Elsa - so glad you're getting back in - each attempt is worth something, even though it may not feel like it. The weekends are the hardest - maybe you can psych yourself up for next weekend.
Rubes, hdb *wave*
Well, it's Monday morning down under & I'm back in familiar territory...bring on the next week.

NO-Bender Challenge
Hi
Thanks for the encouragement Angelcakes, sometimes I feel a bit of a fraud coming here and posting, then going back to the drink and failing myself and everyone else again. Then I figure that at least i am still trying, which is more than I was doing a couple of months ago. I have no AL in the house, and I've done the weekly shop without buying any, and have no visitors who will bring AL due this week, I will stick with it.
Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend, and has a good Monday.
Take care:l

Hi No-Benders
Angelcakes and Roberta ? I looked at my hubbys glass of red wine Sunday afternoon and thought mmm I could just have a glass of that, just the one, thats OK just one ... but like you I thought I would only regret it so made myself a cuppa (keeping blooming twinning?s going single handed at the moment!)....... phew those demons like to sit on your shoulder and whisper in your ear don?t they. If it helps a little they do it a lot less as the AF days go on x
Fickle and Elsa, great to see you jumping back on board, well done onwards and upwards, this is a huge learning curve for us all. Elsa that picture makes me giggle every time I see it, is that one of your dogs?
Have a good AF day sending you lots of strength hdb x

Hi All- still here and still on track (so far) cheer up Elsa- its a winding road and at least you've jumped right back on it!- good idea of yours not to have any in the house at this stage when you're feeling vulnerable.- I like the corgi too! is he into orange squash?
Had to laugh at your "tea" comment HDB because thats exactly what I do most nights! anything up to 4 mugs between 7pm and bedtime and usually make husband drink one at same time. He keeps complaining that he has to keep getting up in the night!
Good luck Angel C you sound pretty positive to me- and see you all tomoz- Love R

Hi everyone, thanks for the support, I've treated myself to some nice non AL drinks to try, and now theres no AL in the house I feel less of an urge to drink.
The Corgi isn't one of my old ladies, my two are mongrels, and best described as unique, but cute in their own way.
I what you mean about the tea drinking, especially on the cold dark nights, I think I need to buy a big teapot to save on boiling the kettle.
Take care everyone, hope you all had a good day.

Another day almost achieved- just had a sticky moment as husband late home and I felt myself being drawn to a bottle of wine -as I'm getting hungry.(the old usual routine trying to wire itself in) Should be OK once I've eaten dinner.Have just eaten small bunch of grapes and drunk a glass of diet coke- which have helped-plus coming online to get back in mode.
Might have to hit the chocolate tonight (like you Jackie C) but at least it won't numb my brain!
Good luck everyone for tonight and tomorrow X - R

Evening NB buddies!
Sorry I've been a bit erratic.
Happy to report I went very well the last few days and even though I had to drive my teenager to the shops late to get something and sat for 20 mins outside a bottlo I sat and SAT and THOUGHT of... a bottle of vino... my MWO buddies... my Nobender buddies... my reasons for wanting to feel better and look better and how many things (including my bank balance) have improved since I gave up the nightly bot stops... and I thought "SHUCKS!! Now why'd I wanna do that????" Hence.. NO VINO!!
Ahhhh thank you my friends :l
