Well, gang, I survived the day. It was grand!!!!!! Weather was utterly gorgeous; mountains of barbecue, ribs, Brunswick stew, coleslaw, fried pies,...........Oh, I'm getting hungry all over again! The children had a blast, riding on cousin's grandchildren's toys all over their huge farm. I managed to avoid the family members who set my teeth on edge the most. Later, we went to 11 almost 12 y/o's bd party, danced, played games, I'm pooped! Talk to all tomorrow!

I had Preimier party, Emmy. It was great fun.
I went to a women's event at church yesterday. It was very moving. I cried a couple of times. I am just so grateful to be out from underneathe the arms of alcohol. It moves me to tears at times. I look at my home and my children, my animals...I am just so grateful for it all in my life. I have beautiful friends too. Since August my life has literally done a 360 turn around.
Lode your evening sounds great and Rubes too. I love BBQ!!!!

They have left, and I'm alive! It was a fabulous visit, even with the flyswatter incident when GD got home and was a smart mouth. (Don't worry, nothing she can take to court!) LOL During lunch, she sat between her bros, reached over and punched the little one and when he howled, she said "I didn't touch him" but Hubs was behind her and saw the whole thing, The little s*&t actually said to him 'Prove it', so he did! LOL Boys were rolling with laughter watching her run from the flyswatter. All survived, and a blast, took home lots of treasures, including a jar of worms and a 6 foot snake skin.

good afternoonnnnnnnnnn yes i slept in today but got awaken by dogs barking and howling .. lets just say when they heard me come out they all shut the fuck up and was nice and quiet ..but it was nice to sleep in .. well needed ..

Hooray for Sunday! I had a couple of days last week that were kind of a drag, but much better than they would have been if I had been drinking. Today is 16 or 17 days AF for me...I don't care to check right now actually.

Here are some things I'm grateful for today:

~clear mind
~sparkling water
~clear skin
~big smile
~easy laughter
~long workout
~healthy food
~light heart
~sunshine
~my favorite program on tv tonight
~getting to see my family for the holidays soon
~peaceful sleep
~MWO (meaning you all)

Oh, and cigarettes :H J/K, I would rather not be smoking either, but it's cool for now.

Yes, Lodes, that is wonderful. Betty, great to see you so vibrant and living the life, even with all you have on your plate. I have to go out today, many threads to tie up. Got a good 'recovery' sleep from my weekend, so I'm ready to face the week. Feel I need to pace myself, feeling a little like my old med probs may be trying to raise their ugly heads, and just in time for the Holidays. Next weekend is my boy Jack's BD, so more parties! Somehow, we still treat both boys on each other's BD's and they love it, since they adore each other. I can only imagine the men they will be, coming from such a large, loving family, and learning that sharing and caring for each other is most important. Have a great day, my sweet companions.

Hey there T! Where is everyone today? Hopefully enjoying a lovely AF day!

Just a quick pop in between work & more work. Having a great day though. I made a goal to work somewhere else today (I do a lot from home) and it was wonderful to be out in the world like that. I don't know why I've been avoiding changing my scenery...oh wait! Yeah I do. Funny, that big bad world isn't seeming so scary lately. WTF was I waiting for?

I lost some weight since last week and am just a few pounds away from my goal. Hooray! Also, started the day with paying bills, which usually sets me on edge -- as it should. Not today though. I love not seeing liquor store charges on my statement and the money saved through cooking (eating in), not drinking, and smoking a bit less is awesome.

Good Evening Shifters,

I have finally gotten all the dry wall dust cleaned up and my house back in order. Strange how the disruption really bothered me. But the good news is I've gotten most of my cleaning for the holidays done and out of the way.

I have started working on my holiday plan T. The main thing is an alcohol free home this year. I was really the big drinker so it didn't bother anyone when I designated this as a no booze zone this year. Actually my kids were very happy!

An early Thanksgiving for me. I had to drive to the next city today on business and accidentally ended up the wrong way on a one way street and, you guessed it, a cop was right there. Of course, I pulled right over and got my info out, and he came over and asked me what was going on. I was so shaken, HE got shook up, what with my cane and Disabled Tag and me shaking. He took my things, checked them out, gave me a warning and skedaddled! Nice young man, really. I finally calmed down and when I got to the office i was looking for, told them about it, and they told me NO ONE EVER get's off with a warning, so I feel blessed. Had to go on to Lowes and Wally World, and drug store, so I'm beat, but happy it turned out well, and I was SOBER!!!!
