Bday was great and today we had a luncheon at work. I always make several dishes. The other managers really tick me off. There are 5 of us total and the other 4 all pitched in and brought ONE turkey. We have 100 employees. Are you kidding me??? They are so stingy. It really bothers me. They should show more appreciation to their staff that works hard all darn year. They make the most money and bring the least every time. It isnt right. I had to make them let me put a tree up this year. Everyone is going to bring in one ornament. I will get the bows for the top and streamers. I mean that will be a whole 20 dollars. I could understand if they didnt make good money but they do. This time of year just makes me feel like giving. I grew-up so poor I hope I can give back to someone like they did us when I was little. Sorry for the rant!

Lisa, try not to resent. You can't teach morals to adults at some point, and you got yours on bended knee, obviously. My Grandma kept several families alive during the Depression. She cooked and took food every Wednesday, and that's what they relied on for most of the week. Momma and Daddy were the same way, giving, taking in children, the elderly. It's just what we did, and we never expected anything in return. We would have been considered poor by most, but we were rich in our hearts, and you are a queen in the eyes of those who know you. It's the meek, and humble, who shall inherit the earth.
Hubs is having some real problems with depression. I've seen it coming, but can't tell the man any damn thing. He surprised me tonight by saying he wants to start selling our properties next spring, and I am THRILLED. He's also decided he needs to retire, which is a double-edged sword, since I don't know what I'll do with him after all these years of routine. But, it's time, and he really needs to change his life-style, and learn to enjoy himself, take time off, relax. It's going to be hard on us both for a while, but we will come thru, because love survives. Next August is 40 years, and I'll be damned if we don't make it to a big celebration. (Sorry for the language, been a tough evening). Love you all.

OK, rested, but off to the dentist. COME ON SHIFTERS!!! Where is everyone Today. Sorry I shared so much last night, just a lot on my plate right now. But Hubs and I will get through this, we've weathered lots of storms in our lifetime together, and I'm going to do everything in my power to help him now. It just takes a while for a man to admit he needs outside help, and my man is pretty stubborn. Love to you all, my sweet companions.

Ruby - I have a feeling your Hubs will be just fine with such a beautiful, good-hearted wife, mother & grandmother (and wonderful friend to all at MWO) that you are. It sounds like you all have a close family and you know, with the grandchildren being around, he won't be able to be depressed. I'm sending hugs and strength to you from southeast PA.

well good morning shifters .. im feeling lazy .. cant seem to get in the fast mode .. been over tired and just want to sleep and once i wake up i just dont feel like doing much ..maybe its just a slump and the holidays .. work start to slow down and comes in little by little ..
ok done venting here well it looks like everyone is busy and im hoping everything is great with everyone ..

T, your body is telling you to rest, so listen. I know it's hard, believe me. Thank you all for your support. Hubs has an appointment next week, so I won't be going to the cabin till we talk to our doctor. I just talke with his NP, and she says to get him in, there's no reason for him to be suffering with all that's available today. Thanks again. And T, sleep........sleep..........

Hi guys I have to apologise because I havent even checked in to see how everyone is doing, I just replied to a Macks post because he was one of my first ever friends here .......

My dad is back in hospital, the doctors have all told him that nothing is wrong, he doesnt believe them ........they have told him to rest but he wont ....... he is paying for a specialist ........ this may sound trivial, but my mum is at her wits end as am I , we still have a business to run and spend 4 hours a day travelling to visit him .......

I am still sober but struggling ........

My oh my, so sorry to hear of your struggles with your Dad, Betty. I'm sure it's taking a toll on everyone. Let us know what we can do.

Rubes, do you think hubby's skin thing could be worse due to stress too? It sounds like he is really under it right now. How are you holding up?

And T is tired out...sounds like you need the rest, buddy, and with your recent loss maybe you need a bit of extra TLC. Take time for yourself.

Hi Lil, Britt, Cowgal, Grateful and anyone I've missed. Today marks 3 weeks AF for me and on Thanksgiving I will celebrate 4 weeks. Truly, something to be thankful for.
