ARMY thread 6th November 2009
Don't mind me JC, it's been a ponderous old day -
scolding myself for drinking away the last 7 or so years
patting myself on the back for chucking in the grog
encouraging myself to keep going
You know same old stuff, different dayIt's time I put my big girl pants on. :grannypants: I hope they fit.

Hello Folks!
Feeling rested and smiling today.
Have you ever felt that you were just pretending that everything's fine and when you check, it really is. Well I checked, and it is. I'm much better off than many people I know. I need very little to survive and only a little more to be content, and contentment is my aim.
Simplicity and self-reliance are becoming my watchwords. I have had enough of chasing smoke. I have ambition, but it's realistic and achieveable as long as I keep my wits about me.
Anyway, I hope you all have a happy and peaceful day.

Hi Pops - I have been patting myself on the back a lot lately. Just been a bit annoyed at myself for wasting time and money on being a drunk.
I think I am ready to go to the recyclers tomorrow with my mountain of cans and bottles - they have kinda been like an ex boyfriends shirt or photo that you hang onto - but eventually you are ready to chuck it in the fireIt's time I put my big girl pants on. :grannypants: I hope they fit.

Thanks Irish - I kinda liked having them around as it was a good reminder for me. Dad wanted to chuck them out when he was up last (although he could only see a quarter of them) and I actually swore at him when he wouldn't let it go. What a naughty daughterIt's time I put my big girl pants on. :grannypants: I hope they fit.

Congrats Starty on your 9 months smoke free, that's awesome! And, believe me, its not too late to start on your dream/wish list!

I'm back to 10 days again, I've been reading but not posting I wanted to be sure sobriety was a #1 priority for me before I jumped back in. I'm also belatedly congratulating myself for giving up smoking 29 years ago!
Hope all are well and have a good day.I love you, I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you.
