Don't mind me JC, it's been a ponderous old day -
scolding myself for drinking away the last 7 or so years
patting myself on the back for chucking in the grog
      encouraging myself to keep going

You know same old stuff, different day

        Hello Folks!
        Feeling rested and smiling today.
Have you ever felt that you were just pretending that everything's fine and when you check, it really is. Well I checked, and it is. I'm much better off than many people I know. I need very little to survive and only a little more to be content, and contentment is my aim.
Simplicity and self-reliance are becoming my watchwords. I have had enough of chasing smoke. I have ambition, but it's realistic and achieveable as long as I keep my wits about me.
Anyway, I hope you all have a happy and peaceful day.

Pondering is good Zeppie. It's so easy to forget how we felt when we first came here.
Give yourself that pat on the back.
          You deserve at least that

Hi Pops - I have been patting myself on the back a lot lately. Just been a bit annoyed at myself for wasting time and money on being a drunk.

I think I am ready to go to the recyclers tomorrow with my mountain of cans and bottles - they have kinda been like an ex boyfriends shirt or photo that you hang onto - but eventually you are ready to chuck it in the fire

Thanks Irish - I kinda liked having them around as it was a good reminder for me. Dad wanted to chuck them out when he was up last (although he could only see a quarter of them) and I actually swore at him when he wouldn't let it go. What a naughty daughter

It means that you can appreciate your new life so much more, just think how many people who have never been in our position take their sober lives for granted

I'm back to 10 days again, I've been reading but not posting I wanted to be sure sobriety was a #1 priority for me before I jumped back in. I'm also belatedly congratulating myself for giving up smoking 29 years ago!

Hope all are well and have a good day.
I love you, I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you.
