We went to the Tate Modern, but you're not allowed to take photos of most of the so-called artwork...



So we mostly play on the interactive stuff



i don't know what I'm doing here...



WHEEEE! Oh flippin Nora, my scarf's come off! i never thought I'd find myself naked in an art gallery....The shame...The draughtiness...



Look - i have created my own artwork! I call it 'Self-portrait at the Tate'. I wonder if they'll display it. Maybe it'd need a more 'modern' title, like 'Death and anguish of the Tortured Tiger - With Knobs On.'

This is the main exhibit in the Turbine Hall - Kim says this is Typical of the Sort of Rubbish that gets called Art These Days



I sort of agree...



You can still see where they have filled in the crack that used to be in the floor - it was Art, not poor building work



Here is the story about the stupid people that managed to fall down the crack - it makes Kim laugh whenever she reads it. I think that is mean - but yes it is funny...

This is the site of Clink Street Prison, which was built in 1144, making it one of England's oldest prisons. Prisoners were tortured in all sorts of horrible wince-inducing ways...



NOOOOO! Let me out! I told you, Eeyore made me nick the Jelly Baby!



This is the Golden Hinde, Sir Francis Drake's warship. This is only a replica, but has travelled further than the original ship - ahoy me hearties!



And round the corner is all that remains of Winchester Palace - most of it was destroyed in The Great Fire of London

Thankfully Kim gets the idea and we stop for a healthy snack - Crayfish and Watercress salad. MMMM

This is in the Hay's Galleria. It's a sculpture-cum-fountain



Thank goodness- I'm not a strong swimmer



Even from this angle, I'm not sure exactly what it is...



This is the HMS Belfast - It took part in Operation Overlord supporting the Normandy landings.



Now it is preserved as a floating museum ship

And a half-blurry one of me crossing the bridge. If there's one thing Tiggers hate it's inconsistency...

And this is the Tower of London



Where you can see the grass here- that's where the castle moat used to be.



This is the entrance to Cradle Tower - it was built between 1348?55 for Edward III as his private watergate into the castle. He used it when he arrived by boat.



Many Tudor's prisoners entered the Tower of London through the Traitors' Gate. The name Traitors' Gate has been used since the early 17th century - prisoners were brought by barge along the Thames, passing under London Bridge, where the heads of recently executed prisoners were displayed on pikes. Queen Anne Boleyn, Sir Thomas More, Queen Catherine Howard, all entered the Tower by Traitors' Gate.

I'm not sure we should be hanging around here so late at night Kim - there are rumors of ghosts being sighted in and around the castle walls...



Do you think these are ghosts Kim?? No she reckons that they are just Yeoman Warders, or 'Beefeaters', who still guard the Tower. They were called that cos they were paid in beef and veal. Not a bad salary. I'd insist on being paid in Spam..



Ohmygod Kim!! There's a LIGHT on in one of the Towers! It's a GHOOSSSTTT!!

Thankfully we leave the Tower and have a wander around the area. Hmm this looks a little more friendly. Maybe a bit too friendly? Kim says not to worry, it's not another one of 'those' places...



Hello ladies - well this is all very civilised...



This is the Lloyds Building - designed by architect Richard Rogers and built between 1978 and 1986. It is sometimes called the Inside Out building, cos the staircases, lifts, electrical power conduits and water pipes are on the outside. Sadly Kim has taken A Really Poor Photo of it...

This is the Swiss-Re Building at St Mary Axe. Londoners have nicknamed it The Gherkin, as they reckon it looks like a gherkin. I'd be a bit shocked if I found this thing in me burger!





All this talk of gherkins has made me hungry again - so we stop off for tea at an organic store where you can construct your own healthy dish. I chose salmon, olives, sesame brocolli and a cabbage, pepper and dill salad. Kim says I am Learning, but that I can't spell' broccoli'.

Anyway, tata for now folks - I am a Cream Crackered little Tigger and am off to beddy-byes. Love Tigs :h

Kim - thank you again for another wonderful set of adventures. You are absolutely amazing. The photos are wonderful. The history is fabulous. And your (I mean Tiggers) commentary has me in stitches. I don't even try to sneak on & read it at work anymore. :H
