last message from Tigger for today

I got to meet Bettty, the other permanent house resident today.

I dont think she was too impressed at first, as she is the hunter/gatherer of the house, and I think she thought I was a bit ....... shall we say diminutive, and could be easily pushed around.

Anyway, I just politely pointed out that I'm really a TIGER, and I've hunted things that would eat her for breakfast without a second glance, and she treated me with a bit more respect after that!!

She took me out to show me her hunting ground, which is really lovely. All NZ native bush - pungas, cabbage trees ferns and flaxes - which also attract native birds like tuis and wax-eyes and fantails. (although we have strict instructions from Miss B that we are not allowed to hunt those ones!)

So then we had a race down to the bottom of the garden (I won!) which Miss B has planted out with lots of natives. And it is very nice, but I'm not quite sure that it quite fits my definition of a hunting ground!!

Anyway, its getting late and I have to save my energy for St Patricks Day tomorrow!

But I promise he wont be wearing inflammatory attire when we watch the Bulls/Hurricanes (my local Super 14 team) match on Friday ........ :H:H:H

Come to think of it, that may be why he delayed his arrival here this week ... he obviously wanted to watch the Stormers/Hurricanes game amongst his country-felines!! Her certainly looked as though he had had a bit of a late night and was a bit worse for wear!!

Actually I just realised that the next home game here (next Saturday 27th) is against the Sharks ......

The one thing Mrs. T and I agree on is that the Bulls suck.

She's a Stormers fan, being a native of Cape Town. I'm a Sharks supporter, being from Kwa-Zulu Natal (Durban).

            Go Sharks
            for the 27th!!!

              Stunning pics, Miss B

And very interesting links. The cubs are most impressed!

It seems a lot of felines like to try their luck with Tiggs. When I have a chance, I'll post a pic of one of our ginger cats attacking him in the garden on the eve of his departure for the UK.

Great Pics Miss B - good thing he had a rest in the countryside before visiting the capital.

Tips I just saw you asked a question about the dishies earlier (around page 102) Yes the blue pup in the pic is Tips - he's getting big isn't he.
It's time I put my big girl pants on. :grannypants: I hope they fit.

It looks better in the pics than it is in reality - it didn't get much attention over spring and summer so is currently a bit over-grown!! And I certainly wasn't going to post pics of all the weeds!!

                          Hi everyone,

we are running a bit late today .... it was St Patricks Day and very busy.

I did meet this kiwi bloke who showed me how to do the haka ..... quite quite honestly, he looked a little nuts to me and I reckon he had been partaking of too much of the green beer!

We have some things to do, but back latter with some pictures of Wellington waterfront!

                              Tigger World MWO Tour

                              Dear everyone,

Ok, I'll just show you a bit around the city bit of the Wellington waterfront, which can be either extraordinarily beautiful (when it is sunny and calm) or extraordinarily exhilarating (ie; windy!). Yesterday, it was a bit exhilarating and I was a bit worrled about falling into the harbour and getting eaten by a whale, so I kept my distance.

We started off at Oriental Bay, which is the main beach in the city. Miss B swims here a lot (most of the year in a wet suit!), but it doesn't look very inviting to me .....

Then we walked along the Parade and past Te Papa (we are going to go there some time soon) and onto this bit of old wharf area, which has been turned into an outdoor recreation place. Lots of people use it for walking and running and cycling and roller blading, and there are lots of places to sit and have lunch and play areas for kids. I tried to have a bit of a run, but it was so windy I fell right over on my face!

To keep things interesting they have random bits of poetry all over the place. Spot the Tigger!!

They also have lots of sculpture all over the city. I quite liked this one, but Miss B most likes the kinetic sculptures which have moving parts which do things when it is windy. Like the Zephyrometer and the Tower of Light. Wellington Sculpture Trust - Gallery

Anyway, after that we went back to work .... Miss B has a very cool office in Cuba St, which is supposed to be the most bohemian, artistic and creative part of town. There are lots of cafes, noodle houses, sushi bars, great little gift shops, book shops, 2nd hand music places, emos, hare krishnas, students, buskers, and people of other descriptions that I'm too polite to repeat here. So we stopped for a coffee and enjoyed watching the world go by for a bit. But her favourite bit of Cuba St is the bucket fountain, which is world famous in New Zealand (spot the Tigger again!). Bucketfountain

We are going on a road trip tomorrow to Palmerston North, which John Cleese once called the suicide capital of New Zealand because he thought it was so boring!!! However, we have a few things to see along the way, and I hope to have a close encounter with a sheep!!!

We will be back on Friday!!
