    Not all the beaches here are like that Ruby. That just happens to be what they're like around here. There are beaches with any kind of pebbles and sand you can imagine, from black pebbles to fine white sand that is really zillions of tiny shells that have broken up into very small pieces over the years. Our beach isn't the best but the water is very clean - it shows by the thousands of sea urchins in the water. Apparently they only live in clean water.

        So glad you like the photos Ruby. All of the members that Tigger had stayed with until he got here had done such a superb job with their pictures and their comments that I had been getting a little worried that I might not be able to do such a good job. But I had some ideas and went to a HUGE toy store a few days before he was to arrive to see what they had. Luckily, everything I had in mind, I found there. I really wanted to buy him some kind of top or something to send on with him and I found this male "Ken" doll with a lovely blue sweater and when I saw that he had sunglasses in his hand, that tied it up right there. Of course I didn't know exactly how big, or rather, how small Tigger is so I was just hoping that the stuff would fit him okay. Then as I was taking the "doll" package apart to get the top and the glasses, I found the "laptop" in the package as well. So couldn't resist posting a pic of Tigger sending e-mails to Daddy Tiggs.
        And I had seen a small Jet-Ski in a store here but the one I found was nicer. And I just had to make the life jacket to go with it. And wouldn't you know that the earplugs I had were orange.... perfect for the little guy
        And I do hope you get to visit Greece some day Ruby. It truly is a beautiful country and I am lucky to live here. Of course, if you do get over here, you'll have to visit Stirly-world!!:H:H

              Tigger is of course sitting on the top part of my desk right next to the computer screen as I post. (He wasn't sleepy and wanted to know what the latest news was from MWO). I have a 17-inch flat screen and Tigger is exactly the same size on my screen as he is in the above picture. And he's even cuter in person...:h

              Unfortunately, after many bumpety, bumpety rides, several dogs, a dip in the river at Greenie's and a bath here, his fur is not quite as fluffy as it was when he first started out. But he's clean and happy and still has the same big smile...
              Oh and he just said that he wants some icecream so I may have to go out and get him some...:H:H

                      Thanks Ruby.... it really has been a pleasure having the little guy here and being able, through Tigger, to share bits of my adopted country with the MWO family...
                      And I have had quite a few chuckles doing it....

                            We're back!! Auntie Stirly was very disappointed tho'. It was windy and there were waves too big for us to go in swimming. And she'd bought us an air-matress for us to sit on while she pulled us around in the water. But she said the wind would have blown us off. So we just sat in the shade and watched the sea. It was pretty there...

                              Ah Rags, it wasn't just the bloody waves. It was the wind as well. Pissed me right off. :stomper: I had to put a rock on the rope of the air mattress so the wind wouldn't blow it away just to get a picture of the little guys sitting on it. Can you imagine what it would have been like on the water with that wind ? A bunch of soaking wet little animules. And I could only get a picture of Tigger on the jet-ski in very shallow water cause I was afraid it would capsize and I'd lose him in the sea before I could get to him - had my camera in one hand - not easy to dive in to save Tigger!!
                              These are the waves BTW. I've just cropped the picture some more so you can see them better. Note that there is only one person swimming. In that little cove, there are folk who swim every day all year long...
