Hi Bett's! Uke tuning is usually G,C,E,A. but why not tune it like a cello?!
More best wishes and good vibes to you Mame, during this difficult time. It's great to see you checking in here, and keeping us up to date. Hopefully you feel a bit of 'release' by coming here, or it help's in some way.
Where are you Rag's? Have you run off with the Dali Lama?! Watch him, he's a dark horse. And with a laugh like that, defo off his rocker....;-0, and i bet he know's his 'garden of eden' from a horses arse too.

Ah, hiya Fick's! Brilliant. Yep, lot's still to learn here, (week 5) but a lot more settled, and stuff making sense. But. First week or two?!!!! WTF??? constantly, but stimulating, so all good. Bravo! Are you excited?

Yep.. will be excited again tomorrow.. to tired just now as was a lot to take in.. lot of people and social politics to learn about.. lots of 'important' people I must tread warily about until I know the ropes. Spent the day studying org charts & getting lost in the building (no sense of direction) but think I've picked a few good paintings to act as landmarks so can find my way from now on. Girl showing me around kept whispering asides I couldn't hear so I thought flippin heck it can't be that scary!
There was a moment in the lift where she said about another bloke who'd just got out 'I don't like him, that bloke smells bad, y'know like alcohol and cigarettes' and I wondered to myself if I have smelled like that before... eek bet I have!

I heard some really fantastic cover version of something done by an Aussie Ukulele orchestra in an alleyway broadcast on triplej one day and i think it might've been them.. not sure.. but was blown away by how good 100 Uke's can sound with a good vocalist :H

Well, a workmate (on the truck) last year told me he could smell the grog through the pores and sweat. I had NO idea, as i'd cleaned teeth, showered, had breakfast, apple etc..but still the booze seeps out. Wow!

Morning all!

Thanks for the Ukelele links! The Wellington INternatioanl Ukelele Orchestra (see Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) has sparked off lots of interest in ukelele's hence my recent purchase. I was going to bring it up here with me, but thought I'd try and get some work done instead. (But I haven't)

Glad the new and recently-new jobs are all going well!

How's everything going Pan? Are you making progress??

I'm going home tonight ....... really looking forward to it. I find it hard to be out of routine. And I feel just a little exhausted. This emotional staff really takes it out of ya. But I'm really glad to have been here ........ my brother and I have had some great talks and its been nice to do some stuff that has taken the pressure off my niece and her husband.

But somehow I just need to put my head down for one last push at work over the next week. Right now I dont know where I'm going to find the energy, but somehow it needs to be found.
