THE NEXT DAY THREAD - DECEMBER

    Evening folk's!
    Sounds good Angel......;-)
Yep Reg, the old porno channel after 10.00 p.m. Thanks for the heads up re 'Last chance saloon' tonight. Coxy is apparently notorious in the northern suburbs AA scene, as i hear he runs a few meetings in Preston. I've never seen him in action, but i'm told he's very passionate. Ooh. It's on now! Later gater's..............

                Morning all,

Meant to tell you, I scored Stephanie Alexander's new Kitchen Garden Companion, a very weighty tome, combining recipes and gardening tips.

Also: a 3" Dick paring knife and a 6" Dick boning knife. Anybody see the irony in that?

                Thanks for lovely tune, Reggie.

                Have a ripper day.

Morning Supermodel, and all to come,
That sounds like an excellent addition to the arsenal, Hawney.
On a beautiful morning such as this, i imagine one could look out of the open kitchen window to the herb garden, whilst enjoying a cuppa, and casually plan, and enjoy all the possibilities that would be lunch, or dinner, all the while alternating between the Age online, and maybe catching up on the NDT's flying report from Reggie, a bit of morning persaflage from my good self, Bridgee's Strayan plant re-gen adventures, or Coach Ronnie's latest hip and shoulder strategies for her T-ball team.
As for your 3 inch and 6 inch Dick's, well....what you do out there in the bush is your business.......

Have a magical day all, and it's dinner at Supermodel's!

Aspy - it's a Dick™ knife, as opposed to a dick knife, so, relax. I'm sure your snippage will be much gentler.

was reading NDT at work this morning and laughed so hard at Tawney and G''s posts that everyone wanted to know what the joke was! I'm not "out" at work (so to speak), so I passed, but it put a smile on my dial.

Am sure that you will put your knives to appropriate use Tawney!

Aspman ...... I can sort of imagine that you'll be the sort of Dad to your new daughter that I have watched some of my friends become. And it is all good. Very very good indeed.

Angel - glad your trial day went really well .... if you run out of places to organise let me know!

Read a great thing today about change (and it was talking about organisational change processes) and about how it isn't change that does you in, it's transitions. It drew the distinction between situational change (which is external) and transitions (which is the internal and psychological proceses that we go through to adapt to changed circumstances). And it talks about transitions as being like a "no-mans land" when the past is gone and the new doesn't yet feel comfortable. I really liked this quote:

"The transition zone is both dangerous and an opportune place. Its the place and time when the old habits that are no longer adaptive to the situation are extinguished and new, better-adapted patterns of habit begin to take shape."

                              and this:

"When the winds of change blow, some people build windbreaks and others build windmills".

anyway enough philosophy for a Friday evening ..... let the silliness begin! (and I'll read about it all in the morning!)

                              have a great evening everyone
Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn
