I have been taking this drug now for a week without any side effects. It hasn't reduced my craving for AL to date My Dr says it can take a couple of weeks.I take one 50 mg tab every 24 hrs 1 hr before drinking. Is there anyone had experience with this drug? My GP wants me to have 2 al free days a week and to drink when I have cravings to enable the drug to do its job.

Hi B...
Talk to Loop. She seems to be having some success with the Sinclair Method. I tried Naltrexone but may not have followed the Sinclair Method as it is designed. I believe it does not stop cravings immediately but is a drug that works over time. Good luck!AF since 2/4/10

LOL Everyone thought I was a guy for awhile due to my love of sports.lol. I was on Nal for a short time years ago, but my doc took me off it very quickly for some reason. He was a quack; thought Klonopin was better for me. May give it another go. I cant handle Topa or Baclofen; side effects were very bad."Decide-Which Voice in Your Head you Can Keep Alive" (Shinedown)

Hi boozer,
I have been taking naltrexone for 37 weeks employing the Sinclair Method. Whilst I am aware that it has helped some people, I have experienced no benefit whatsoever. I'm now hoping to switch to baclofen.
