Good time of year for you guys up north to do oxtail, lamb shank, or my all-time favourite, lamb neck...

Anyone like curries? You MUST give Cape Malay a try. Its a style of cooking brought to the Cape by slaves from what is today Malaysia. Ever hear of Bobotie? Denningvleis? Lovely curry mix for veg curries!!!

Mrs. T as well - she buys shit we NEVER use.

I go in with a mission: buy what's on the list, get outta there. Two stops: Woolworths & Pick 'n Pay. Don't get something? Make do without it.

Oooooh, despite the heat... I'm getting hungry...

I braaied some deboned whole chicken last night. Absolutely delish.

Have any of you tried flavouring whole chickens by loosening the skin, and putting your spices between it and the flesh? Dog, there are so many options. Moroccan is especially good that way. Serve with couscous with goodies (nuts, dates, etc).

WTF is magalorean? Never heard of it before....

                Sounds good, though.

We call turmeric rice yellow rice. We usually put soaked raisins in, as well as a piece of stick cinnamon. When almost ready, knobs of butter and a tablespoon of sugar. Steam for 10 / 15 mins.

You can't really get it here.

it has to be full fat coke.. think it's one of Nigella Lawsons

I prefer the leftover turkey( it's just a big chicken but uglier)

Tar & feather him, I say...

String him up from a tall tree.

Put him in front of a firing squad...

Having said that, I can also be rather picky...

Ahhh... what also works well with yellow rice if you don't like raisins or cinnamon: lightly toast slivered almonds in unsalted butter and stir in when just about ready to serve...
