What to do in this weather today??? Its scorching hot again, but the wind is blowing a gale. I'm very worried about fires. Every year, you see plumes of smoke all over the Cape Peninsula. THe worst is when a fire breaks out in one of the squatter camps (slums). The shacks are so close to one another, that there is no way of stopping it. Plus fire engines can't get in.

You have no idea how bad this wind is: we can't even use the pool. It is covered in leaves and dust. The water is "agitated" - ripples and spray. When it gets like this, I'm even reluctant to drive on a highway, because the gusts actually make it difficult to stay in your lane.

Last night with Mrs. T was nice, though

We spent a fortune on sushi & other goodies, but it was worth it.

The movie afterwards was crap, but at least I go to movies now. You guys would understand that my drinking precluded me from doing it before. I would either be drunk by the time we would need to go, or agitated because I was gagging to neck the bottle...

Do NOT waste your money on 2012!!!

They call it the "Black Southeaster"

There are some funny pictures of women stupidly wearing skirts or dresses when it blows in

A couple of years ago, it even blew over a double-decker bus and a few trucks.

So yeppers, inside it is. And I was hoping for a braai :upset::upset::upset: I have a lovely whole sirloin that's been maturing for two weeks... Maybe I'll do it in the oven instead, with a black pepper and mustard seed crust... Crunchy on the outside, tender, pink and juicy on the inside...

The nicest thing was that I could get an extra platter of Salmon roses, because I didn't order a bottle of wine

You can let them lie quietly for up to a month... Its vacuum-packed.

Escpecially something like rump steak.

Then I marinade it in honey, balsamic, herbs, garlic, spices, olive oil. Braai it whole, and then carve at the table, with juices running
