We`re all caught up in the `frenzy` of Christmas to some degree or other. Boy!!! aren`t the pressures mounting???!!! :bang :H

Yet, isn`t it comforting to know that the ultimate gift we can give our kids is free? Yes, I mean a sober mum.........a sober dad.

Costs nothing.........means the world.

I just had my oldest baby girls b-day on 11-24.(13yo)
And the youngest baby turns 11yo on 12-21.
Then Christmas and I don't have ANY money to do anything for them!!
I'm hoping that just having a sober Dad will keep them happy till after the first of the year(I may go back to work right after the first ) !!!
This really sucks for them!!!
I may take them to a local shelter to help feed the homeless on Christmas day.
Maybe kinda selfish of me but then maybe then they will see that it could be worse.

Star, you are so very right, for the first year in my daughters life (she is 13 in january) we already have presents under the tree and I wasnt drunk when we decorated it ............

My daughter told me she isnt even excited about the presents, she is so happy with how the seaason has been going this year. Just enjoying each other....

Star, once again you are right on target with this. Christmastime is about being together "completely and in the moment Together"....being sober allows us to do this, sober and only, completely sober". All the presents in the world cannot make up for the emotional devistation of a drunk parent during this time.
