'Tis the season... to be ambushed

I was minding my own business at work :H... and one of the bosses came along and plonked a bottle of champagne on my desk as a Christmas present.

Didn't have time to refuse it, and anyway, that would have been a bit churlish.

Fortunately, I never liked champagne anyway, so it's no temptation but I don't really want to take it home. Can't leave it here. What to do? I think I might give it to a homeless person on the way home tonight. Or is that encouraging people to drink who might have a drink problem

What's anyone else doing with their unexpected bottles?

        Hi Marshy,

I'd give away to the next person who didn't know my bosses.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

I would give it to a friend or like Jackie said someone who doesn't know your boss.
I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

I'd put it up in the back yard and use it to dial in my pellet rifle. Or maybe use my potato bazooka on it.

I would give it to someone you know who drinks,as well as it being a present it would show them how serious you are about your own sobriety, just a thought

'Re-purpose' it as a gift for someone that you are ABSOLUTELY SURE doesn't have a drinking problem. Drop it off on the way home.

Yup. We had two mass shootings when they were still legal - one in 1987 and one in 1996 - and they were banned because of those. We seem to all muddle along even though we can't shoot each other though

Kate - I was thinking about christening a ship! I work right by the river, but there's never a boat around when you need one..

Well, I left the champers in a spare drawer at work last night (I don't have a drawer coz I'm freelance :H). I'll conveniently "forget" that it's there for a few days. I might take it with me to my friends on Xmas day - just didn't want it lying around at home for a week.
