It seems things keep getting worse

My dui was an absolute scar on my soul. Then when attending an AA meeting mtg this week someone busted out of the door that I was entering and took out my two front caps.

This morning I received a call from Harborview Trauma Center telling me they had my husband in there. After his last heart surgery they took took 2 veins from his right leg, and that had created an aneurism. He presented himself at the local Forks hosptial will blue/black toes and they had him in the helicopter within 1/2 hour. He didn't call me until this a.m. because he was headed for a procedure - which took about 5 hour - almost as long as his heart surgery.

I have booked a flight leaving DFW tomorrow a.m., but due to the storm everything has been cancelled., however I will get there. He is in pain, although the procedure went well and he was hungry, but they can't feed him depending on an a further emergency surgery.

You just never know, hubby is not going to love me looking like a dental degenerate. I've always taken excellent care of my teeth, but it will take over $2,000 and 15 days to replace - after I see that hubby is okay.

Oh, Hilary - this is terrible. I dont know what it is that makes our lives go pear shaped every now and then but yours truly has. I trust that you will find within yourself what you need to get through all of this.

He will love you because you're THERE for him, not judge you because you had an unfortunate accident.
Love, I've been watching your posts, and you are having a REALLY rough trot of it, aren't you?
Imagine it's Christmas Day next year, and you've turned your whole life around as a result of the 'bottom' you're experiencing now.
You could look back on this positively aweful time as your new beginning.
I really hope you turn the corner soon.

Thanks Miss, and BBBrg, you both totally get it and I appreciate that, I will check in when I can. Airport is totally snowed in, but will get there and hold his hand.

Aww Hilary, maybe when you see hubby you could hold his hand, look tenderly into his eyes and sing a few bars of "all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth"

                Much love

Oh Hilary, some how I missed this thread until now. I hope you are with your husband and that he is recovering nicely. Luckily teeth are something we can fix up.

Goodness sakes! What a tough go you are both having. You are "there" for each other, though. It will be OK.

Hi SKendall, I think sometimes we just have to look to the heavens and (no pun intended) smile at the hand that is being dealt to us. Things will get better and hopefully you can look back at this time and see it as having been a turning point in your life toward all the good times that lay ahead.

Hil, I know this is little comfort, but everything happens for a reason. We may not see it immediately, but there is a reason for everything.
