:welcome: Fire 187,
You've made a huge step today by coming here and asking for advice. You're in a good safe place with no judgement and masses of support. We've all walked in your shoes at one time or another.
Read the posts, then read some more. Ask any questions you need to.
Have you a long term goal? Either total abstinence or moderating your drinking?

Hi Fire,
A big warm welcome to you. Everyone always suggests making a plan. Decide if you want to moderate (most can't!) or to abstain. Most people try to do 30 days alcohol free to start with.
Good luck whatever you choose to do - you will get lots of support here.Recovery Coaching website

Hi Fire,
You will find lots of help and support here. There is no judgement, just support.
No matter where you are, I found that lots of water with lemon juice helped a lot.Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.

Welcome,
My bit of advice is to let your doctor know. Depending on your drinking habits you may need to go on medication to quit drinking. But you took the right first step.I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.
Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.
Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

I am assuming you didn't plan this, or are not consciously attempting to "moderate".
I can't tell you why. I will ask you, can you stop? If there's any around pour it out, and don't buy more. I say this because I see what I've done in the past, and it only gets worse. Starts like that, then only escalates. Next thing it's out of control.
