Morning all, just been reading the whole thread, you guys were in great form last night. Personally I could barely keep my sober eyes open past midnight. So thats what ringing the new year in actually looks like then
Great to hear some of you guys are planning a trip to the emerald isle. I am sure you will be afforded a 'cead mile failte' which translates into english as 'a hundred thousand welcomes'

Wasn't the moon a beaut last night. At midnight here, it had a great yellow halo around it-quite beautiful. What time was the eclipse in SA, I missed that?

We had a quiet little party/braai at Christine's friend's house, and stuck Chris" lighted birthday candles in the pavlova to sing to her. 34 and time she met a really nice husband! I'd like more grandchildren!!

Must sort out the house, but will chat later!

Hi Sunbird, I pasted this from an email from Astronomy Ireland "The "big" eclipse comes tonight December 31, when the Moon will pass through the Earth's shadow roughly from 7pm to 8pm (mid eclipse being 7:22pm). We say "big" because this is the first eclipse of the Moon to occur on a New Year's Eve since 1656, that's 353 years ago!" Well what a disapointment, it barely eclipsed a tiny corner of it here in Ireland, must have been better elsewhere I assume. Do you remember the full solar eclipse a few years ago? That was amazing.
