After spending the day suffering the consequences of NYE celebrations........embarrassing memories and nursing injuries I have returned to MYO for support (once again). I have been absent for a few months and I have found great comfort in reading and sharing everyones journey. I look forward to your support in January, I know I will need it.

Remember the Christmas Carol, where the ghosts visit Ebenezer Scrooge? Well, I was sitting cozily in my bed, watching the wonderful old 'Thin Man' movies at midnight when my phone rang. It was the four drunks of New Year, my relatives who party hearty but never invite me because I don't. We discussed sleep, bacon, dogs, all in very loud voices from their end. There ended up being a second call because someone dropped the phone. I was happy where I was, just WATCHING William Powell drink himself silly!
I posted this on the Army thread, and thought it might bear repeating.

I've been musing (uh-oh!!) about this last year and what it meant in my life. I find it amazing we have this wonderful gift of life, most of us tolerable health, beautiful children. We wake each day with limitless possibilities, regardless of our work, social, age, etc, situation. But what were the red letter days of 2009, and why weren't they ALL red letter days? Did we enjoy ourselves, laugh enough, spend enough time in the sunshine. Are we making the best of the situation we're in, or just surviving it one more day, hoping it will get better. Hope is the word we use sometime when we really don't believe it will happen. Sorry to wax on, here, but again, I digress.................Happy New Year to all. Make it a Happy one.

Hey you all,
Hope everyone had a Great New Year.
I fortunately got to spend it with my friends and was not alone.
Had a good time.
First sober New year since I was a kid.
Felt good.
87 days!!!!

Well this New Year has to be better than the last!
I may be back to work soon.
Cathy and I are quitting smoking on Jan. 3.
I'm just trying to take look at my life and get past all the bad shit.
And I will !!!

My thoughts and prayers are always on you all !!
Thank you soo much for all your support for the past few months !!!
Even when I have been a big Ol' Butthead !!!!

So here is to looking forward with much anticipation!!!

Ruby, u r the sweetest!! I think it will be a great year once the emotional/stressful times r over!! And T, you guys r the best!!! Ruby, do u think you can accomodate 3 people on 2/26/10!?? We will FINALLY get to meet & get to visit, cannot wait!! Just let me know!!

Getting ready for a huge bonfire tonite, getting hay for the horses right now, they will b very happy, as the had none this am, and they don't seem to like the winter rye I planted, looks good though!

HI everyone! I just PM'd Dill to start a Month thread (like she did for Dec.) ---- and then saw this thread. Guess I hang out in "Just Starting" more than here.

I have 3 weeks today - I'm ready to Jump in to January with both feet.
